Re: How much will you lose in D2d payment?
The CWU has failed abysmaly in protecting our members pay, and what is becoming more and more important with each passing year, our working conditions, and that's with it in the workplace.clashcityrocker wrote: And how does the CWU protect members working conditions and pay if it is not in the workplace?
When, if, this new agreement gets voted in, there will be a helluva lot people leaving the union. This agreement will just be the latest in a ever-growing list of rubbish deals that have seen our working conditions deteriorate to such an extent, people are worrying themselves sick about their futures.
I found myself today urging more than a few people to hang on a little longer, at least until they've voted and seen the result, before stopping their subs.
I lost something in the region of £1100 during the spring/summer/autumn disputes, and this deal, like the rest, gives me nothing I wanted. As a consequence, I myself will think and long and hard about remaining in this quite useless union, and will not deter/convince anybody else from doing so. I'm sorry, but there it is, as a life-long Socialist, I cannot, will not, support anyone, or any organisation, that supports the globalist agenda.
Some months back, I made the decision to finally cut any ties I had with, what used to be called, the Labour party.
I now find myself having to search my conscience with regard to my continued membership of the CWU, and right now, the CWU 'aint winning.

Fully agree with CCR, we need the CWU firmly in the workplace with far greater engagement from the officers and the PEC.
They should pick workplaces at random and visit the memebership there.

Again Daz if it fails to protect it's members it has no right to claim a position in the workplace.

I also receive the early shift allowance of £12.
So I will lose £37 per week.
Take into account the 2% rise and I am still out of pocket by £30 per week.
How can anybody justify this.
HQ will justfy it with the 2011 and 2012 payrises, but will all three payrises and supplement paid 52 weeks be enough to cover your £57 a week? I think by 2012 you will be slightly better off by around £7 a week gross but from this year for a 2 year period your making a loss.

But taking inflation into account and the fact that you haven't had a payrise since 2008 you may break even around...........2017.....perhaps unless the 2013 pay rise cuts your wages again.Big Daz wrote:mondeoman1 wrote:I have 900 drops for D2D purposes which works out at £45 per week with 3 sets.

Re: How much will you lose in D2d payment?
Its gonna happen, re d2d pro rata, and we will just have to live with it. All we can do now is do our job properly. No more coming in early to finish early, no more cars on delivery, no more shortcuts on delivery. Do the job right. If the average walk is 5-600 drops then we hit every drop every day. Fill yer boots on OT then after 2 weeks tell them to get stuffed, you'r workn to your time. Walks will be longer but drops will be fewer. There is only so much you can do in a certain amount of time. Dont think RM actually understand the time that the guys who dont do there job properly save them and NO I,m not one of them, I do it properly. So when they have to its gonna be a major headache in offices across the country and their actual costs are gonna go thru the roof.

Is there any trade union that, in your opinion, is doing a better job of protecting its members interests at the moment?fishtank wrote: Again Daz if it fails to protect its members it has no right to claim a position in the workplace.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

UNITE, as the Managers get bonuses no matter their performance, My DOM never complains of a pay cut, they seem to get better conditions and more of them than ever.........clashcityrocker wrote:Is there any trade union that, in your opinion, is doing a better job of protecting its members interests at the moment?fishtank wrote: Again Daz if it fails to protect its members it has no right to claim a position in the workplace.

Re: How much will you lose in D2d payment?
spot on, most posties in my office get about £30-£35 per week for shift allowance and d2d so this is a huge pay cut. im just scratching my head about this whole deal, its an absolute disgrace the union top brass need voting out pronto.Fluke wrote:The avarage round in our office has about 450 - 500 drops there are the odd one or two that have 600 drops. Nearly every round takes out 3 D2D items a week and pick up £12 early shift allowance, now how the feck is anyone better off with this new deal? Am I missing some thing?

rogue wrote:true blue you are not correct no one should be prepping door to door in work time at the moment thats why you currently get paid d2d payment ,in the new agreement it will then be included in workload and officially add time to your indoor work
D2D are done in duty time now !!! Not in your own time
