Not crap but you seem to be looking at the very small picture (me) rather than the us and our owners the public?True so i would ask why are we losing another 20.000+ jobs on top of this modernisation process that has given us 60.000 job losses in RMG so we can keep our private competitors in profit when they should have gone down the drain because they are not as efficient as we are. Are you happy with that whilst giving the owners of your public service the public or tax payer if you like?) a far more expensive and poorer service?theboropostie wrote:When we went out on strike we were all very keen to stress to the public and press that it was for conditions and job security and not financial gain - were we not?
Is this the future though? we all know many of our customers bin them out of hand so why not scrap households and use any surplus MC RDC sites to prep and sort this mail once addressed to every household so that they (public) have to open and look at the product on offer! Would that not be an innovative product and save jobs whilst increasing awareness of a product for the customer?I know that the D2D issue is going to hit some of us and it's also going to benefit some of us but surely the main thing is to have a secure job for the future?
My opinion on this agreement is that at least the revisions will be done fairly and with union input instead of what has happened over the past year and also that D2D will be included into workload which will also benefit when the call rates are considered.
Have you ever been through an RM revision? They lie cheat and steal and when you break the rules they force on you your sacked! We have never had a reasonble and fair workload measuring tool and that has to be a management problem so why should we suffer?
Imay be talking crap but I thought that is why I was on strike - keeping a roof over my families head for the long term and fair conditions to work in - any pay rise is a bonus?
CONDEMNATION.

well, i know i have a tendency to be ridiculously idealistic and optimistic, and i probably don't have enough knowledge to argue a decent point, so i'll say no more.
Well I'm ridiculously realistic and pessimistic but it doesn't mean your points are any less valid than mine ,just different so please feel free to continue.
P.S I have also been called cynical.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Removing the delivery span is an option for both shorter and longer deliveries, one man could prep two walks, have a meal relief then prep his own shorter delivery (2.5 hours) and go out and deliver it.
Doesn't have to be only longer deliveries, you can put short deliveries in as well as long as they're sound duties, base a small delivery around lunchtime collections and parcel work etc.
Apart from the money it's not all bad news.
