I am awaiting the publishing of the guidelines on CDVs, Work standards and the menu of options for delivery duties as these will be key to seeing what the future holds and also how serious RM are about fair workloads.

When we have these i'll make a judgement based on the whole document. My branch has called a meeting and one of the Unions officers is attending. Has yours done the same?
takes him all the time to get his arse to our office never mind calling a meeting

This is a major issue woofwoof...... these meetings need to take place for 2 reasons. 1 the members need to vent their feelings on the deal and 2 CWU HQ need to come out and give the full picture.... I suggest you ask your branch and if nothing is done then you write to HQ asking for a meeting.

Yes it has although teasing a Union officer along is proving more difficult.
Just when can we expect to see these guidelines Lovejoy?
March 23rd gives the members a small window of opportunity to properly digest what promises to be such a worthy document.
May i assume you are satisfied with the reward side of the agreement?

I am not the oracle mate!!!

The guidelines are being finalised and meeting on them is taking place 2day.

Like I have already said I will look at the full picture - in isolation may not be enough for me but I will weigh that up against protection of jobs, fair workloads, pensions and many more things before I cast my vote.

If you are having an issue getting a national union official then email info@cwu.org yourself mate and ask them to forward email to dave wards department and they will make sure somebody is sent to you .

dingo wrote:Good evening , its nice to be asked to give my opinion. For the record I have given updates in the past and I have given opinions in the past.

I wont be commenting on the agreement parts until after the announcement on Monday. I have a view , as do the branch's who I cover and we will discuss which way we go as we always do at meetings with reps and members.

Two important amendments were carried at the PEC which will have a lot of revelance to the way I vote and the way the Branch"s who I cover vote. This will be published on Monday.

For the record it was other people who said £30 , £29 and £27.50 and I stated that figure was wrong. Remember the supplement was only about allocating the monies spent last year on door to door and the shift allowance. This was never about new monies. Approximately only a third in deliveries perform 3 items on door to door opposed to 99 500 who work in deliveries. So if you share the monies out to drivers , reserves, nights , indoor staff and rest day covers then some will be losers and some will be winners in regards to money.

Some like to give myself and others some stick , that is fair enough , we have broad shoulders but remember we led the members in London who took 20 days of strike action to ensure this union got into negotiations whilst some of you were in hiding.

Only a minority of Branch's stood up and were willing to fight Royal Mail last year when the union asked for a number of units per Branch to ballot. Instead others waited for the national ballot.

I will decide my opinion next week and I will inform you. However my duty is to the members I represent first. Anyone in London will know we have more pressing problems to be dealt with first.

As i can see your online dingo ...can we have your thoughts ??

City office reps got called to a meeting with area rep and area manager today ,we have been told that each duty will have a break down of of exactly how much time that duty needs to be completed each day based on his traffic figures.Anybody that is not able to match their prep speed etc with his figures will be told they have a performance issue.

He seems to think that the indoor calculation tools he is using cannot be questioned. Our office is going to refuse to use his traffic figures but he wants this to start on monday.Christ we havnt even voted in the ballot yet!...

how do they know what that walks traffic figures are for that day on that day?

and how much ips we will need to do, how long our flats/packets/deads/redirections

and please don't tell me it is from RM figures or I may just have to smash something

so we have not even voted yet and already they are thinking of ways to 'punish people' using the new supa doopa tools

It is one of many ridiculous statements in this agreement.
Once everyone reaches this climax of your career this mythical top 10% you cannot rest.
Because there will always be a top 10% of the top 10% of the top 10%.....etc etc.
The negotiators must have been smoking some good sh1t when they came up with that one. :chuckle
