Police car and mail van in road crash

A police car attending an emergency call collided with a Royal Mail van.

The busy junction in Llandaff, Cardiff, was closed for five hours early this morning while the debris was cleared away.

Fortunately nobody was seriously injured.

The police vehicle involved was heading towards the city centre just before 2.30am and was thought to be going through a red light when it crashed with the Royal Mail vehicle which was travelling towards Llandaff. The van flattened the traffic lights at the junction of Penhill Road and Cardiff Road and hit a high brick wall.

Two police officers were taken to hospital but later discharged and the road reopened at 7.30am.

this crash effected our mail today in abergavenny all of our code sort bundles were on it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! lucky enough dum said we could leave em all till tomorrow so bang goes our early finish tomorrow
