Cycles

Post by Union Man »

This question may seem irrelevant to some, but to a few it would seem rather important. There is,as usual no mention in this agreement as to what happens to the skill bank, that is the Cycle mechanic.Methinks we don't exist,I understand the trepidation concerning infinite amounts of usseles junkmail, and the fact that we could be walking for 5 hours, just think on that?5 hours! But I still ask what happens to the mechanic?the one person who has actually kept Royal Mail on the road so to speak.Perhaps we are to become the Dodo of Royal Mail,if so Goodbye and Farewell, and a Big Thank You to messers Ward and Hayes.

Fear not you will probably be offered a managers job as thats the only grade that is expanding these days in Royal Fail.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

5 hr del spans could be the norm, just one of the many bad points of the new agreement.

so to create 75% full time staff how the hell do you think we will create full time work like it says delivery span to be agreed locally so yes 5 hour walks will be the norm

ranges from 4 hrs to 5 hrs depending on the volumes, when the single daily deliveries came into being royal mail wanted 3 deliveries out of our small town office 3 part time deliveries (we have a high percentage of full timers) the current deliveries were not tested at that time the union rep and manager decided to split up the 3 deliveries adding a 1hr on to our walks without testing them to see how long the duties were, some like myself (not enough to matter) knew our delivery spans were already round the 3 hr 30 mark and complained against it ... our union rep's reply was whats the point you are still going to finish early as you will be leaving the office before 7.30 am .... all he was interested in was getting the money for signing up to the SDD, we never got the "tools for the job" as promised at the time ie security boxes and he quit royal mail 6 months later. we have to hit the street by 8.45am to have anychance of finishing on our time and no one takes their meal reliefs

we are not allowed to cut off we have to stream mail into the next day's delivery but it is expected of us to work overtime
