Re: Royal Mail staff agree pay and modernisation deal
A line from the Guardian's report caught my eye:
"The union said that under the deal there will be opportunities to turn allowances into regular additions to basic pay, starting with an immediate payment of £20.60 a week for delivery staff, equivalent to a 5.9% pay increase"
When even our own union is distorting the facts, what chance do we have of getting the truth of this offer heard and understood by the public? Sweet FA! We won't get any support or sympathy from the general public if we take IA. We been sold out.
Might as well report for work tomorrow morning, drop my trousers, bend over, touch my toes and say to my DOM I'm all yours!

Re: Royal Mail staff agree pay and modernisation deal
this bit made me laugh
"There's a balance of pay and operational changes which will help offset job losses and ensure our members are fairly rewarded for change."
lol why are we getting paid less for more door to doors then?

Not scientific. In reality, majority will accept the deal.2old4this wrote:Postman has an online ballot. It's not looking good for the CWU.

Like that majority who lost pay and voted to strike in 2008?Night Tonic wrote:Not scientific. In reality, majority will accept the deal.2old4this wrote:Postman has an online ballot. It's not looking good for the CWU.

Re: Royal Mail staff agree pay and modernisation deal
its a shame most people are commenting without reading the whole agreement as we went on strike for an agreement on everything and the pensions to be sorted out and even had banners saying its not about pay its about full time jobs.
as far as i know all aspects have been agreed covering all the issues i went on strike for and nobody has been tucked up by the union , some people do need a reality check on this website as i have not seen many firms offering any pay rises lately or commiting to full time employment .

Re: Royal Mail staff agree pay and modernisation deal
Polls on here on something like this is useless. Look at 2007, RMC was sure the deal wouldn't be accepted and it was. Fact.
£400? Just for ticking yes? come on this is the real world. You bet it'll be accepted.

Did you go on strike because you wanted their to be no limt on Delivery Spans? or to have a commitment to review performance standards?rogue wrote:its a shame most people are commenting without reading the whole agreement as we went on strike for an agreement on everything and the pensions to be sorted out and even had banners saying its not about pay its about full time jobs.
