A JORDANS resident said some of her post has been sent to Jordan in the Middle East and told Royal Mail “if it was not so serious it would be funny”.

Christine Ray, who lives on Dean Wood Road, said she has received letters several weeks late with Arabic writing on the envelope and even messages stating 'not Jordan (Middle East) try UK'.

She said the addresses on the envelopes have all been clear, including a post code and the word Buckinghamshire.

In a letter to Royal Mail she wrote: “Do you not employ English speakers or people who have an understanding of the English language any more?”

Mrs Ray said this has been happening for more than two years and though she first complained in May 2008 she has never had a response or an apology.

A spokesman for Royal Mail told the Bucks Free Press: "We are aware of an instance nearly a year ago when an item was misrouted to Jordan, however we are not aware of any issue concerning misdeliveries to the Jordans area or any complaints about misdeliveries.

“If there are any further cases we would urge the customer to contact our customer services on 08457 740740, so that the matter can be properly investigated."

No, English is not a needed skill at RM. Particularly if you're doing manual sorting. Or any knowledge of the country at all for that matter.

Although possibly the HP MC have their frames set up with HP directly above ROW* and was a genuine mistake...

*Unless Jordan is counted as Eurpoe/NA?

That reminds me of when I stayed at Jordans Youth Hostel many many years ago.
