doesn't the Union listen?
Do the Union know why we went on strike? Because from the very beginning of this new agreement it is a No from me as it states "This agreement reaffirms the 2007 Pay and Modernisation Agreement, concludes all oustanding phase 4 negotiations".Wasn't this the deal that has caused all the problems leading up to this New Deal? I went on strike to get some of if not all of the 2007 agreement renegotiated, not reaffirmed and added to!

Re: doesn't the Union listen?
There is a section dealing with assigning managable workloads and building achievable duties etc... using some kind of work place tool. I suppose this is an attempt to deal with some of the problems with 2007 pay and mod. It doesn't go far enough for me and again, is very vague.

Re: doesn't the Union listen?
The CWU is very clear why we went on strike. The aim of the strike was to ensure that the CWU would be a party to all negotiations. When that objective was reached the strikes were called off.tomangoe wrote:Do the Union know why we went on strike? The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

and in the 2010 agreement they did nail down the Unions involvement at all levels, its a pity that the rest of the deal is so poor.
IMHO this was a deal for the CWU not for its members. But I still think it would be the biggest mistake possible to leave the CWU and let the leaked deal go through without being challeneged.
If you left the Union because of the recent developments then please rejoin we need active members not puppy dogs.

I have no doubt that the agreement is looking forward to a time when there is no longer a Labour government.TrueBlueTerrier wrote: and in the 2010 agreement they did nail down the Unions involvement at all levels, its a pity that the rest of the deal is so poor.
And Billy told me the election is 5/5 or 6/5.
