Working In Office while on Holiday

Can someone please tell me In our office last week someone was on annual Leave, but came in to do O/T.

We are led to believe this is not meant to happen our dim dom says it is ok, we thought you could only come in if it is your rest day or waddingtons week off (5 week shift 1 week Off)

Is there an agreement that i could download.

This is something that comes up a lot and TBH I have never found an agreement that gives a definitive answer either way.

I suppose in the end its personal choice and/or local custom and practice.

Employees may not attend the office whilst on annual or other leave. This means that employees may not attend the office to work overtime or Scheduled Attendance.

Well someone better tell my DOM, and of course his favourites who come in on their holidays, seems to be happening more now. We've tried complaining but get no where, the bit that annoys me is that I don't think we have enough holiday weeks as it is, so how do these people get their holiday moved to another week. Holidays is a regular bugbear in the office, but as, so many other things still seem to be working on Execitive Action basis, I don't expect anything to get fixed quick.

As anything over the first ten hours is paid at less than basic pay, you would have to be a complete muppet to work a weeks leave.

On my last annual leave a receieved a call saying we're really short this week and could I work.

Just before I replied the Boarding call went out and I turned off phone

your bullying employer can contact you while on holiday as long as you have gave him permission before you go on your a/l and ask you to come in and work. if no permission given and he rings you thats harrasment while on holiday /a/l.
