Stopping my households
Since the Dly postman are only going to get a pittance for delivering households I am going to request a stop on ones delivered to my house.
The postman will still get the money, but won't have to deliver them.

You dont get paid for those ones, they knock them off your totally weekly d2d - ive about 15 on my round who wrote to ask not to have them, and my weekly d2d number dropped by 15 and now I get 17p less per week

I would expect T-man and NT along shortly with sage words about biting the hand that feeds you and to a certain extent they would have a point.
However after seeing what scraps both Royal Mail and the CWU considers a good feed i am inclined to agree with you.

Wasnt there a bloke who was suspended for telling his customers how to do so? Wasnt he reinstated?
Im opting out, i suggest you, your office, family, friends and possibly customers do the same.

Biting the hand that feeds you?? Kin ell you ever tried getting a meal for 8 quid nowadays?? LOL!! I think its a great idea. The things is though customer complaints will go through the roof anyway without our help when they are having upto 6 lots of shite through thier doors every week, but RM dont see that though eh?? I get customers moaning like f**k now when i only deliver 1 or 2 a week. As i said in other posts it will come back to bite em on the arse, FACT!!

All the info you need is here: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=400126&mediaId=500081pickaname wrote:So how does one opt out of d2d?fishtank wrote:I would expect T-man and NT along shortly with sage words about biting the hand that feeds you and to a certain extent they would have a point.

If you want to stop receiving unaddressed mail delivered by Royal Mail to your home you can do so by contacting us at the address below. However, there are a few things you should consider before doing this:
1. The opt out service only relates to unaddressed mail. Royal Mail is still legally obliged to deliver all addressed mail, which includes mail that is addressed “To the Occupier” (or with any other generic recipient information), as well as mail that is personally addressed to you by name.
2. It is not possible for Royal Mail to separate material you don’t want from material that you do want, such as advertising offers or leaflets from Central and Local Government and other public bodies. Opting out from Royal Mail Door to Door stops all unaddressed items from being delivered by us (although we would work with Government to get a message to every UK address in exceptional circumstances). Election material is not delivered by the Door to Door service and is therefore not affected by this opt out.
3. Opting out means no one at the address will receive unaddressed mail items - is this acceptable to everyone living at the property?
4. Please be aware that Royal Mail only delivers about 25% of the total volume of unaddressed mail items in the United Kingdom. The opt out will not cover any other distributors, who will continue to deliver unaddressed mail items. Opting out of Royal Mail Door to Door deliveries will not necessarily reduce by a significant amount of the number of items that you will receive, as there are other carriers in the market place.
5. If you would like to stop any other unwanted communications please visit http://www.mydm.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which provides details on all other preference services, or call 0845 703 4599.
If you wish to opt out of receiving Door to Door mail items, please send or email your name and address to the address below:
Freepost RRBT-ZBXB-TTTS
Royal Mail Door to Door Opt Outs
Kingsmead House
Oxpens Road
OXFORD
OX1 1RX
or email: optout@royalmail.com
We will then send an opt-out form to your address, which you must sign and return. We do this for security reasons - to verify that those resident at the address have requested the ‘opt out’.
Once you’ve returned this form, Royal Mail will stop delivering unaddressed items to your address within 6 weeks.

I haven't told anyone else to opt out, I have just chosen to do this myself.pickaname wrote:fishtank wrote: Wasnt there a bloke who was suspended for telling his customers how to do so? Wasnt he reinstated?
What others do is up to them.
I wouldn't dream of encouraging others to deny RM of income.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Might be useful for customers if you had the opt out form in the downloads section, postman.
