Careful el cartero is on a recruitment drive!. :left:
got to hand it to him...this boy gathers publicity....nice to see him having his say...long may it continue....I think he has some very valid points on the way part timers are viewed and treated in certain quarters....

just looking at this document makes me realise that there is nothing on there that states what the cwu actually wanted! It sounds like RM have put forward their requirements and thats it. Once again us posties are being treated with no consideration at all. Do they really think that by dangling a lump sum carrot infront of us makes our days trudging the streets with overweight bags totally acceptable. Maybe for the stupid few who see the money as a life changing offer ne shooting. VOTE NO! :cry

To the best of my knowledge none of the aforementioned are members of the key negotiating teams so I believe my point is valid until such time it is proven otherwise.

Following the disclosure of the Full Agreement on Monday we can all wait too see if Dingo, Lovejoy, The Truth et al. choose to come to this forum and express their opinion on the Agreement. People can argue the toss as to the 'rights and wrongs' of what they posted and the opinion presented, what it most certainly will not change is the fact that the basis for this Agreement is deeply flawed and does not meet the needs and aspirations of members set out prior to the industrial action.

The 2007 Pay & Mod Agreement failed because RM did not honour its commitment to Phase 4. Neither did it enter into the Agreement with a fair and equitable mind. Now I have seen nothing in the 'final draft' that gives me confidence that RM will fulfill its obligations if it fails to get its way once again. I appreciate that Roger Poole and ACAS will oversee its introduction, but will they be there to adjudicate beyond that?

The best action that can be taken by every DO, MC, RDC etc affected by the Agreement, is to contact their Area Rep/Branch via email and leave them in no doubt as to the message they want conveyed to the National Briefing next week ... NO WAY ARE RANK AND FILE MEMBERS GOING TO ACCEPT THIS AGREEMENT!

Don't know where you got your maths mate but £347+2%=£354 which kind of pans out at £9.07
Don't be fooled by hourly rate look at your take home pay.

Why people look on pay is not the issue the job will be unsustainable by the fact the human body can not sustain the work rate demanded by royalmail is it better to have a job you can do for your life time and not just a few weeks no matter how good the pay can be!.

Where opinion is the same I have no problem with non-union members supporting union members when it comes to national issues such as the forthcoming Agreement. We had a number of non-union members who showed solidarity by not crossing picket lines last time, for which they were commended by me as Office Rep. Equally, we had union members cross picket lines.

Every once in a while an issue comes to the fore that crosses all natural barriers and the Agreement is likely to be one such issue. No self-respecting RM staff member can hold this 'final draft' up as being of benefit to them in its entirety. For the 'final draft' to be palatable it would require a complete re-write/re-negotiation and not 'some' amendment here and there.

We only have ourselves to blame for years we've let the same people lead us down a merry path of disaster, year in year out we continue to vote them in when interal ballots emerge. This has to the last straw, voting no will send a message to our negiatiotors but hopefully they will resign with it.

If they have the brass neck to claim that a crock is what has been claimed to be the "Deal of the Century", then I doubt they will feel any need to fall on their swords.

i always think if you're a man, it must be a reasonably easy job, you can make it harder for yourself by rushing around in order to get an early finish, maybe. i like the job, i always have, even tho being small it is sometimes difficult for me. all i require is that i'm given work which i can complete at a reasonable pace in the time alloted to me, including time to take proper breaks, which i often don't have on a morning. i don't want to be hassled into working past my time thru no fault of my own. i don't dawdle, and work to the best of my ability.

i'm thinking that with the park and loop thing, it will be a lot easier for me, as i won't have to carry the heavy weight for hours on end.

pay is not an issue for me. i've had a look around at other jobs recently, and i can see that i'd have to work more hours to get what i receive in this job.

if, as i understand it, the d2ds are going to be included in the workload, and the delivery spans are going to be from leaving the office to returning to the office, and proper breaks are to be incorporated also, then surely the actual length of the deliveries would be shorter than they are now, altho of course doubled for the fact that they will be doubled because they will be covered by two people. if you know what i mean.

It states quite clearly in black and white in this new agreement the delivery spans will be first to last letter.
Sorry to burst your bubble.
As for proper breaks being incorporated, into what?,if you mean your working day then they already are.
If you mean into the delivery span, dream on. :whistle
