Re: SATURDAYS
Exactly. For every one Saturday you're off, there'll three or four Saturdays where you'll be worked like a dog until well into the afternoon. Not for me, not for my members, and I'm reliably informed, won't be for London as a whole. We will strike on Saturdays the very moment Royal Mail move to wreck 'em.fishtank wrote:jessicarabbit wrote:Just been reading throught the 'not the real agreement-agreement' It says RM and CWU are committed to 1 in 4 Saturdays off for everyone who wants them. Can someone tell me how we are going to achieve that as I have been told by my rep that 10 hour days are on there way out too.
I am much more worried about the 3 in 4 saturdays on than the 1 off.

Re: SATURDAYS
despite it going to be a busier day i'm used to working until 3pm on a sat so the extra workload may just cause me to cut off then to. as far as extra Saturdays off are concerned i'll believe it when i see it, however for me i prefer my mid week day off due to childcare so i hope they won't try and force a sat off on me as id rather not have it very often
IF it ain't broke it soon will be if RM have their way

Well for royalmail and their managers it looks bleak as every Saturday i am not off i will go on strike just to see the bast*rds work while i watch football as royalmail said we want you all to work as a team well they are team Saturday as far as i am concerned!.DirtyHarry wrote:Exactly. The majority of the membership will all have their various reasons for wanting the status quo to remain as regards Saturdays. Each and every reason valid.k979aaa wrote: Well for royalmail and their managers it looks bleak as every Saturday i am not off i will go on strike just to see the bast*rds work while i watch football as royalmail said we want you all to work as a team well they are team Saturday as far as i am concerned!.
If Royal Mail continue to keep telling us to feck ourselves, we'll strike, and we'll strike hard enough, long enough, to get Saturdays as a working day, normal or not, removed from the working week equasion altogether.
Royal Mail will know they are playing with fire on this, if not, the inferno could well turn out to be a funeral pyre for 'em.
