im sure one of the regulars stated it wasnt pro rata

I have to apoligise that may have been me.
It was a judgment call as i didn't believe the negotiators would be stupid enough to polarise the opinions of the part-time staff with such a slap in the face.
I was wrong and to be honest i still can't get my head around it.
There will be some ammendments before monday,if they have any sense this will be one.

Amendments are all well and good but they still have to be put into an agreement. If RM have done the maths they will not accept an amendment that will cost the business extra money, it will have to be self financing somehow.

And then what ?? Go on strike for a union who are quite comfortable brokering a deal that shafts the part timers ? :hmmmm

Hand on heart I really don`t know if I could cross a picket line , I`ve never tried . Do the union think there were no part timers supporting the strikes ? Is that why we are treated like second class citizens again ?

Don`t get me wrong , some of the "bonuses" should be pro rata but not this one :no no We will be prepping and delivering the same D2D as everyone else so we should be paid as everyone else

I'm a part-timer, a union member, I'll never cross a picket line, I have no beef with full timers etc etc etc......

I prep and deliver my own walk. The only reason I'm part time is I don't do IPS,,,,

So, yeah the D2D is discriminatory....even if (barely) legal....

RM/CWU HQ you're ALL T0ssers :no no

But if you prepare and deliver your 642 Door To Doors within your normal working hours why should you be paid any more than any of your colleagues ? :Very Happy

I agree, everyone who preps and delivers all their D2D should be paid the same, that is comradeship

Unless of course you are a P/T,

At last the official office bitch.

P/T who preps and delivers 588 a week, and who pays his subs, what a fool eh.

Twelve pounds, eighty seven pence and a half p. £12.87 1/2.

Thats going to be my bitch price for having to prep and deliver 588 D2D.

Most weeks that means I will lose up to £18.

Thats a 10% pay cut for me in total.

I am gutted.

Will vote no, but have to face up to the reality that it will come in at the same time I join McDonalds, flipping burgers. :cry

At least they dont fook each other over.

D2D payment removed.

Post by el_cartero »

So let me get this straight .

In doormail workers , drivers , opg etc will all get the 10 or 20 pound payment per week.

and so will delivery guys.

errr so basically delivery is not getting paid for doing 6+ d2d atall? its just a freebie we are doing on top of what we do?

what extra work have the rest In doormail workers , drivers , opg etc ben forced to do?

how could they of negotiated d2d's payments to be removed? AND 6+

i cant beleive what they have done
one day part timers will have the same right as full timers

what was cwu offered by royal mail

Post by el_cartero »

What did RM offer CWU to put this agreement to the vote?

Was it no loss of subs guarantee ( any subs lost RM will replace)

And a bonus to CWU leaders if they got the deal through.

Is it possible?

is all im saying
one day part timers will have the same right as full timers

Mon off - No D2d
Tues - Ag D2d 20 %
Wed - Sat - Day off cover - D2d every day - 20%

I start the same time and prep the same amount as full time staff.

So i do 5 days of D2d, just like full time staff, but i get paid less?

For the first time in 4 years of working for RM, i am confused and feel let down by my union.

D2D into workload means exactly that.
You do not get paid anything extra to deliver them.
What you have is an HOURLY supplement for the delivery of D2D that is why it is pro-rata.
It just so happens that most part-timers work involves the delivery side so they will be delivering the D2D included in their workload.
BTW i am no fan of this i think it is shocking but not illegal.
I'm still having difficulty understanding this concept. Please try to explain this for me.
  • What does a F.T O.P.G do with the D.2.D that a P.T doesn't?
The way I see it is if they BOTH throw them in, they BOTH carry em and they BOTH deliver them then they BOTH get paid exactly the same for them. Where's the legal grey area which somehow makes this non discriminatory?
