Meant to say I was wrong to worry about complaints building cause of callers office closure yesterday. Semi manager had to staff the callers, I was out on delivery again. There is now a pile of RLB to rival the increasing parcel mountain.

I noticed he had taken off the high viz "Managers" vest he so loves. I'm sure he wears it over his pyjamas. Asked him if it was safer with his Hi Viz off in case the customers knew he was responsible for a failing office. He huffed a reply "Naw, a took it aff coz it makes me sweat when am working too much" He's destined for higher things.

Brilliant. Barely understood one word of it.
It was just like being back at work.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

This all hysterical! I once had a problem with my car while in Scotland and thought I'd be clever and visit the local sorting office to ask where I could get help.

I introduced myself and was given the normal welcome for a Sassenach postie (incomprehensible pisstaking :Very Happy ) and a cup of tea with whisky  . Obviously within minutes the problem was sorted and a guy was found to fix the motor - situation normal as all over the UK - but it made my brain ache trying to understand what was being said. Needless to say it all got far worse when the posties realised that I didna unnerstand them

As usual, most posties are the salt of the Earth when someone is in trouble.

It's no joost Sassenachs that hae problems kenning whit's being said.
I had a pint in a pub in the Cley Hole - Stranraer. Twae auld worthies were talking, one says, "I'll buy that flat faced chicken aff ye" The ither says, "It's no a flat faced chicken, it's an owl" The ither says, "I don't care how ould it is, I'll buy it oaff ye onywiy."

Glad you had a good experience getting yer motor fixed while supping a wee doch n doris.
Lang may yer lum reek.
