i think youll find most pt contracts are 20 - 25 horus please recalculate.
90% of new pt contracts are 22.5 apart from driving jobs which are normally 30hr

£20.60 may well prove to be the cheapest suicide note in history.
What happens to those members of staff who get the old 4am shift allowance as part of their protected pay?, not sure on the exact figure, about £24 I think, how much of a pay cut are they expected to take?

No because they don't have to do exactly the same amount of D.2.D as the F.T nor do they have an early shift supplement to lose, it is the 32 hr contracts who will lose the most.el_cartero wrote:i think youll find most pt contracts are 20 - 25 horus please recalculate.

Re: £20.60 D2D supplement!!
PT have always started 30 mins later in my D.O thus receiving a lower Shift allowance, as shift allowance is part of the supplement, then it could be argued that for my D.O the difference is due to start times. As PT do 30 hour weeks at my D.O that means £15 pro rata, so it could be argued that we all get £10 for DTD and the rest is a reflection of historical differences in start times and amounts of shift allowance.BlueEspresso wrote:Just passed the idea via a lawyer if pro-rata for the d2d, if as i've previously said they will be prepped for ptimers in frame then pro-rata is ok legally. If pt are expected to prep and deliver the same as ft then it is illegal as its workplace discrimination. thats would leave RM & CWU in a sticky mess i think.
The inclusion of shift allowance is the get out of jail card for you legal point, very clever manouvering from CWU and RML and the fact that they have done this is disturbing to say the least.

Well if you look at my calc above, you'll see that a 32½ hr PT, (the PT majority in my D.O), will get £6.70 to your £10.Big Daz wrote:so it could be argued that we all get £10 for DTD and the rest is a reflection of historical differences in start times and amounts of shift allowance.

Re: £20.60 D2D supplement!!
It is not only disappointing but a sell out to us all for giving up D2D without any payment as well as all our allowances protected or not we should have a thirty five hour week with all meal breaks and OT should be time 1.25% and 1.5% Saturday 1.65% Sunday and if we ever were needed to work bank holidays double time!. Royal mail can afford this over the course of five years this is not about money but jobs people are losing their jobs as we speak not just in royalmail and we will all be expected to work a lot harder than ever which is why a thirty five hour week is essential to all it would mean part time staff moving up their hours if they can to be on a parity with full timers or as near as can be allowed this deal while not ideal for all would be better for the many!.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:£29 a week for 42 weeks of the year (40 if you take 2 weeks sick on average) = £1218.
£20.60 for 52 weeks a year irrespective of sick or leave - £1017.20
We loose £200 a year in first year and with an average 2% a rise every year would mean 4 to 5 years to get to the stage we are at now.
Drawbacks - not getting as much as we get now and will take ages to reach parity
Plus - linked to rises - payment when not working -
So not a deal breaker for me but still disappointing.

Most P.T at out D.O do everything bar I.P.S, so why would they receive less D.2.D money as D.2.D aren't part of I.P.S!
Surely prep and delivery of D.2.D is the criteria for payment, not working hours.

Re: £20.60 D2D supplement!!
My current Gross wage is £280.35 for a 30 hour week, that does NOT include DTD as I give them to my floater who of her own free will is happy to do the whole lot and therefore have a bit of extra money.
This is basic pay of £260.70 Defined Area Supplement £15.00 Early 0530 shift allowance (Pensionable)£4.65
Under the proposals it will rise to £302.70 but WILL include DTD.
Now for the maths £347.61 + 2% = 354.67/39=£9.09 X 30 hours=272.70+£15 DEFN AREA+£15 Allowance= £302.70
So is £22.35 a week 52 weeks a year for delivering DTD 43 weeks a year (Xmas suspension and Annual Leave) a reasonable sum of money

Well done CWU - you've got the Part Time vote! Muppets
I will cast my No vote and then say good bye to the union, shafted by softies who can't comprehend what it's like live on a Part Time wage. I have "customers" who "take home" about a tenner less than me and they don't BLOODY well work! Do you think RM are going to get quality staff coming into the business. With the help of the CWU they are laughing as they deposit the fat bonsues in their bank!!!!!

IT WILL BE THOUSANDS OF POUNDS A YEAR IN LOST D2D PAYMENTS BECAUSE THE AMOUNT WE DELIVER WILL PROBABLE TRIPLE!!
