Next Strike Dates?

So, will we know after 2mor talks with R M and CWU when the next strike is to be? is it likely to be next Friday again? or poss the Sat/Monday?

7 days notice are required to stand within the law and give Royal Mail notice.

The CWU are continuing to invite and encourage Royal Mail to come back to the negotiating table for talks.

Talks that are meaningful and NOT a place for Royal Mail to repeat what they have offered.

They (seemingly) do not respect ACAS. Nor do they respect any of us - CWU Members. Nor do they seem to respect or listen to their workforce.

Are they listening to the Government? No. They are not.

Let us hope that they will change their minds. The Government will intervene if they do not 'deliver' on the faithful committment to listen to their employees.

Intrigued to see what the union have got planned next like. OBVIOUSLY the one dayers have had very minimal impact, in fact im beginning to think that even an all outer might not faze dumb and dumber, think about it they probably dont give a toss they are set up for life and will retire soon, My own solution is to have the all outer and hope the government step in and put a foot up a&a's arses. What u reckon, possibly the only way out that i can see if im being honest.

I favour staggered days something like:

Processing on a Thursday
Distribution On a Friday
Deliveries on a Saturday

This hits them for three days and cost us only one. , I don't know if this is possible, as we were balloted as a whole and not function by function.

The only other option I can see working is a week on week off for everyone, then at least you have still got some money coming in, I believe a continuous strike would probably fail, as people just cannot afford an indefinite loss of earnings.

One thing I do agree on, is that these one dayers are toss. My office is clear now, some of the Tw*ts on delivery still come in early and clear the backlog for no extra cost. The poor Delivery Rep is pissing in the wind with some of them.

Is there something I don't know,SA rates aren't even £12 an hour.What's the SA rate for sundays?

Different sections striking on successive days sounds like a good idea but would RM use "as directed" to move staff available for work because little or no mail has arrived at a delivery office for example, to areas left short by strike action. How would we be able to resist this? Can we refuse to cross pickets if we ourselves are not part of the IA for that day? Taking as long as possible to get to and do an unfamiliar task would seem a good option plus claiming additional expenses.

I'd agree with this as well, I really dont think a strike would last more than one week, the public pressure would be incredible, the two lovebirds would have to cave in to us.
