 my computer kept crashing when I tried to unload! good to see the top brass are cruising this site -- keeping their finger on the pulse-- but, hopefully, we'll all soon see what this deal is all about.

RM are threatening to pull the deal because of it.

Need time to think.

It's a case of trying to put the cat back into the bag.
It is all a bit pointless.
It is time to OFFICIALLY release the AGREED document. :hmmmm

And BTW let them pull the deal it's a bag of sh*te anyway.
You would be doing us all a favour, trust me.

Why would they threaten to pull the deal just because it's been leaked on here? Surely we would be told what the deal is anyway in the next few days or would we be expected to vote on it blindly? I guess that's probably the only way it would get accepted by the majority. :d'oh!

What scares me is that this is what the Union are recommending? So what the hell did RM want BEFORE negotiations started? What did the RM give up on? Perhaps they backed down on making us stick brooms up our arses so we could sweep the streets while we deliver? I really can't see what's in it for the workers someone please explain.... what do we get that's worth having? :hmmmm
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

It's really pretty easy to summarise, Royal Mail gave the CWU a list of the things they wanted and the CWU were given four months to make it sound, as convincingly as possible of course, that they had actually been negotiating. Royal Mail has played a blinder because if this so called agreement ever sees the light of day the muppets in CWU HQ will be negotiating the price of clothes in Oxfam - there will be a mass exodus.

In a nutshell it more or less states that you will be working longer days, the reward package is all pro rata and does consist of £20 for D2D BUT pro rata for part timers - so although as a part timer you will be covering a duty each day and delivering 100% D2D you will be paid less than your full time colleague who in fact will only be delivering 80%. Saturdays will become a normal working day. Although it said there was a matrix for less Saturdays I didn't see it.

There is a succession of lump sum payments between now and 2012 amounting to £1000 - and you've guessed it - they too are pro rata and really it is the money due for colleague shares - money we have worked for and agreed to under previous deals.

The killer blow though for me is not the pay structure but the reliance on trusting Royal Mail to honour the incorporation of the CWU in any future negotiations and local dealings again. Oh and it's a big no from me.

the thing that makes me want to vote no is the fact that the lump sum offered to use is our money anyway, what a load of shi t, "oh agree to a load of bum deals and we'll pay you what we owe anyway". Secondly is the early shift allowance going into this £20.86 a week? so we get early shift allowance and door 2 door money all in that £20? or have i read that wrong.

No you have not read it wrong. The £20.60 covers it all lads! Be grateful!

so we could end up doing about 7 or 8 lots of door to doors a week for £8? lol, 12 quid of our early shift allowance goes into this weekly 20 quid basic pay along with door to door money, automatically i will vote no now, and the fact our bonus is taken out of our collegue shares.

disgracefull and part timers are only being offered a pro rata payment for D2Ds hayes/ward and PEC should do the decent thing and resign

Would any of the union glitteratti not like to comment on this so called deal - they've been pimping it long enough sight unseen - well we've now seen it - and if you could just highlight the good bits, which most of us seem to have missed we would be more than grateful.

Now lovejoy how are the PEC reacting to this "Deal of the Century" are they still in a darkened room with the sound of dripping water, have they got slivers of bamboo down their fingernails yet, have they prepared the stocks, manacles and chains for the next group next week?

If any if them have seen this agreement they may as well stay at home, because JC himself, reading on the mount with a basket of loaves and fishes whilst strolling down the canal couldn't sell this.
