They cant be pre prepped or bagged anyways. They have to go through letter boxes or kicked through doors,(if your on my walk) seperately so the customer can see them all individually. If they was bagged or pre prepped the customer would eventually know what they were and f**k the shite in the bin every time they came through the door, therefore RM would'nt be doing the contractors work properly. Advertisments need to be seen not bagged.BELIAL wrote::left:Not a chance everbanner18 wrote:
Pre-prepped could swing it for me....RM invest in new packing machines and create new jobs to sort and prep flyers to make your life easier when they've got you to do unlimited D2D for the princely sum of £20, I'm just guessing but given their track record it looks like a non starter

Re: £20.60 D2D supplement!!
I'm still reading the 90 page agreement postman pm'd me
It has been suggested that there could be a method of prepping the D2Ds in a single sleeve but I don't think that is a goer really. Some areas have 1, 2 or 3 depending on the post code, within the same office so unless they are going to install machinery somewhere that will prepare them in that fashion then I think it's still a manual operation otherwise the workload would be decreasing not increasing and the cry of saving FT jobs would be a nonsense.

In some cases, surely you will be doing less work than now as the floater will be obliged to take their 20% - which isn't always the case now.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:£29 a week for 42 weeks of the year (40 if you take 2 weeks sick on average) = £1218.
£20.60 for 52 weeks a year irrespective of sick or leave - £1017.20
We loose £200 a year in first year and with an average 2% a rise every year would mean 4 to 5 years to get to the stage we are at now.
Drawbacks - not getting as much as we get now and will take ages to reach parity
Plus - linked to rises - payment when not working -
So not a deal breaker for me but still disappointing.
So a truer figure would be £1017.20 but for 80% of the work you currently do.
It also allows floaters to improve their pay packet.
Not a deal breaker for me either.

It is however a commitment to increase the amount of work you will be doing for no extra money.clashcityrocker wrote: In some cases, surely you will be doing less work than now as the floater will be obliged to take their 20% - which isn't always the case now.

Well simple math would say you do 3 x 100 x 100% = 300, then the new schematic 3 x 100 x 80% = 240, however each increase in D2D to say 4, 5, 6 and you're on a loser. As TBT said in an earlier post you have to look at the long term view and see what the position would be in 5 years time because that supplement will increase by only 1.5% for the first two years and I have a feeling that RM will be looking to kill the D2D market with ever increasing numbers.

But D2D into workload has been a union objective for some time I believe.fishtank wrote:

IF they are pre-packed it will be less work than now.
For me personally all I am saying is it isn't a deal breaker. For some, the most poorly paid it will be a big bonus.
I don't think D2D is the big issue in this agreement.
Do I wish it was £40? Obviously - yes.

will this figure be in addition to the £12 odd early shift supplement?
I think that needs clarifying alone

If this is voted through then my wages will be £20.60 + £3.01 CWU subs when I cancel union membership !POSTMAN wrote:£20.60 weekly D2D supplement!!
Due to a slightly larger pay rise.
And it's official.
I don't want to leave the CWU but I won't fund a union that fights to REDUCE my pay
We'll know more when the full agreement is published so that we can make a propper desision

Look at your new take home pay and compare to now, pay needs to be judged on the full mojo not just certain parts.

Re: £20.60 D2D supplement!!
That's true ,they might have negotiated an extra £80 onto weekly basic to get us up to average pay so getting stiffed on D2D won't seem so badCut Off King wrote:If this is voted through then my wages will be £20.60 + £3.01 CWU subs when I cancel union membership !POSTMAN wrote:£20.60 weekly D2D supplement!!
