If reps from Romec, Counters, Parcelforce and Quadrant are also having to attend, is that because a deal on pensions is part of the agreement (and thus affects everybody in every one of the businesses) ?
Could it be something to do with " the new MTSF " part of this new agreement :wave :wave
who knows only time will tell :hmmmm but not long now thou!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carnoustie wrote:Still waiting for The Truth on whether pensions are in this deal. None of Romec, Counters, Parcelforce and Quadrant were in our dispute last year so why are reps from those businesses going to Bournemouth ????

Did the PEC really think nobody would spot the significance of those reps being summoned ?

:hmmmm
Pensions is not covered off in the doc but talks with Government are still ongoing.

The attendees list is standard for a national briefing.
So it is decoupled once again!. But having said that the most important question for all would be our Saturday finish time any news on that?.
Not for ALL but yes for many that is true.

Not long now and we will all see the deal IF the PEC vote it in tomorrow. Div Reps up to London on Monday and as previously posted the national briefing is Wed/Thurs
Thanks for your speedy answer and till we see the agreement we all will wonder but the PEC have to do their job first which is right!. But we must have the final say for it is us the humble posties of this land that can only make the deal work or not work we all MUST HAVE OUR SAY!.

90 PAGES!
Will their be a section covering medical help,

Your walks are going to be made a lot longer ,your work load is going to be heaveir you are going to have less time to di your job than now.

Many people are suffering from pysical problems on deliveies and as a result and a reveiw of this The CWU is recomending longer delivreies 4hrs+

We went on strike due to this reason in my Office.
When we are no longer able to do the job due to pysical injuries caused by extended walks,or in Hospital being treated for walks what will happen to our jobs.

Will RM replace us with a full time person or a Partime Person?
Still it gives me peace of mind knowing the CWU are doing everything to protect full time jobs ,
My A-SE! THEY ARE!!!!

Still when it goes to ballot and a No vote is returened some people will have quetions to answer!

Colleagues,

There is a 2day National briefing on the 10th/11th March for Area Reps & Senior Branch Officials.

So that this information can be relayed to all Reps at the earliest opportunity, there will be an Emergency Liaison meeting called for Fri 12th. (time & venue T.B.C. & another email will follow)

D.S.M.s have been informed, so release should not be an issue.

Please inform your Manager so arrangements/resources can be made for your attendance

the agreement its defanetly crap and will be a close vote to get it thru.

they want to brain wash the reps on the 10th and 11th to try to make them see its a good deal by offering them tea and biscuits and good walks....... when its not a good deal AT ALL etc etc.

They probably wont even show normal members the agreement properly - just reps.

and they hope the reps will go back to base n spread to vote YES.

BRAINWASHING
one day part timers will have the same right as full timers

Every member will get a full copy of the agreement to their home address.......... AS THEY ALWAYS DO.

If some members fail to read past the first couple of pages (pay, lump sums etc) then how is that the fault of the national union???

PEC is still meeting and will probably go late into the evening as this really is a huge decision.

There will be no brainwashing of the reps on 10/11....... if your representatives are not happy with the deal then they have every chance to get up and raise their concerns and have the debate. My representatives will be doing that. if yours aren't I guess that will be the fault of CWU HQ again???

It would certainly make it easier if, as well as the agreement, there was a precis of the pros and cons contained therein, so that some point of issue contained in the 90 page + explanatory notes is missed, then there would be a concise appreciation by perhaps an independent authority such as ACAS who have had such an influence in the negotiation and would have nothing to lose or gain.

I wonder if those who are at the meetings, and really two days seem a long time considering the PEC will have had a week to digest it, will actually have an insight into what the general membership feel considering we won't have seen it and cannot therefore influence the input of those people invited to attend. So perhaps brainwashing is too strong an analogy but when there is only input from one side continuously for two days it must have some influence mustn't it?

Nothing of course is the fault of HQ.

Just a quick question off topic.
Who bears the cost for all this?
Not just the National Briefing but the PEC meetings, the National Negotiations, the hotels, dingo,The Truth! and Lovejoys broadband(joke). :nervous
Even the printing of 100,000 90 page documents.
It must have and will continue to cost a fortune.
Who pays for what? or do they just split the tab like teenagers on a first date? :chuckle
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

The costs to us all will be far more than any of the above IF it is a bad deal when the deal is out we will make our judgement as for any info garnered by any member of this site do not ATTACK THE MESSENGERS!. For they are our eyes and ears and we thank them all for their time.

They should not only be our eyes and ears but also our mouth - we should have been shown the agreement, certainly the salient points and then our reaction to it could have been passed on to the meeting instead of one way traffic.
