We had ours today it wasn't too bad as it only lasted about 15 minutes. Our DOM was telling us that D2D and packets are the best revenue providers for RM. We then asked him if packet delivery is so important why do they keep lapsing the packet delivery. He said it was more important to get deliveries out and sometimes they could not do both. Mmm is that not why they are paid the big bucks? Then he mentioned he was in a meeting with Al & Adam and said they could not understand why we got paid for D2D as we deliver them at the same time as the mail. What a wonderful business we work for...

As for packets, hey if they don't go out they don't go out,for some reason the public don't seem to notice all this

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I think they are trying to do away with packet deliveries in our office. I think the plan is to get the rural drivers to take them out before they start their deliveries.

At my place we have guys who do packets/pouching and a little walk.
They knock out the packets early, then finish throwing their walks off and we all go out together.
Lot of running around though,i can't be arsed will all that.
At my old place cause the packets were always heavy it was packets/pouching/firms/some reg.
So it is and can be done, but a lot of fuffing about though!! personally,i wouldn't do it,helps with a smaller walk but, while they're racing and chaseing i'm casually throwing my walk off.

WTL smoking

Post by alggomas »

Considering that this is going to have life changing [and givivg] affect, Supervisors/Royal mail have shown little enthusiasm for promoting this "stop Smoking" in June/July. No posters or phone numbers.

WTL/Writing to Top management

Post by alggomas »

Most people complain either about WLT to being structured or poorly run. The same can be said about stuff that happens in the office. You really must write to Allan/cozier etc so they get to know the truth. It is no good talking about it.
However many postmen /women are apathetic " we've heard it all before", " nothing will be done". But you must keep battering the door.
Just look at how an apathetic lot OPg's [and supervisors] are.

One of the last mass voting sessions we had, about 154.000 voting forms were sent out.

Only about 64.000 were returned.
Read the above again.
This is why we are not competetive or chaning and adapting. because we are too lazy!

If youe from E.L.Mailcentre. Do not write or speak to N.Malloy if you want anything done.

WTL consisted of 5 min talk about how badly we are performing as an office, INTRA quality down again! Not surprising considering nobody knows what the f**k it is, or what it looks like. It used to come in labeled up and was sorted into frames that were painted pink :funneh They swapped the frames over to a 90 box selection  ran out of pink paint and have been stumped ever since.
