negotiators....I would say so....I already have said so....

you lads don't like opposition do you?

but there again this site is unrepresentative isn't it lovejoy?

especially when Mr Cucumber and others make valid and vibrant comments that make this site worth bothering with.....

keep it up King Cucumber!!!!
I don't think theres any need to stat getting personal.
Don't think they are negotiators I (think) i remmember lovejoy being opposed to the pay & mod deal at the time. I would also say the original comment about 'bought men' is unfair.

Just a quick one The truth!,Dingo and lovejoy are NOT involved in THE negotiations, they are not on the PEC and they are not based at RM(thought i'd put that one in) or The CWU HQ.

I'd like to think that most of you think i'm pretty straight with some of the bits i post.

And for the record, although conspiracy theories would no doubt be the buzz word here but teebs, andy and johnny will back me up with the above.

Deja Vu then! Hopefully we will not end up in the same position with this agreement. Still you know the old adage "You voted for it" well I didn't despite the good advice - it was looser than a bridesmaids drawers.

The truth! wrote:This forum which postman set up has many benefits, but one of it's disadvantages is that it has posts like mister cucumber
which states things which are either not true or are misleading and there protrays the union in the wrong light.

To correct his post . The union has not paid the labour party a penny apart from it's mandatory fees as the union carried e6 and won't do unless the pension defcit is resolved. However as is right annual conference decides as every Cwu branch which reprsents every member of the Cwu decides.

The union does not just use one firm of solictors. Yes Simpson millar is used for personal injury claims on the postal side but not on the bt side where Edwards duthie is used. We also use Patterson brewer for employment law. Plus we use tom hendy for advice on employment law cases and injunctions.

Now in terms of face to face negotations or exchanging letters. Well I am a negotator and you have to do it face to face, you know when their under pressure and you know when their not. Yes we deal with issues in email and letters but these talks would not be finished now if it was done by email or letter only.

Now with regards to forums like this , well the Cwu website did originally have members forum but it got submerged into a north versus south fight and got dropped. These forums are ok but I get a lot of stick from coming on here cause like dingo and lovejoy I know what's happening and know that I will be told I am giving in or a sell out when us 3 have probably seen more action in fighting for the benefit of the members then anyone on here. The fact we recognise what is coming is not the same as accepting that change.

Now in terms of getting rid of branchs well I am lost for words. Who would do conduct code and attendance interviews. Who would negotate for a unit, create policy etc.

Now in terms of no more local agreements. Well on one hand we have people jumping up and down on delivery spans and saturdays yet when the union states that's down to local offices to agree , the union gets accused of allowing local talks to undermine the national agreement. For the record 150 the broadway will never agree the revisions of 1500 delivery units, 64 mail centres and 11 rdcs. After the way some have slagged the pec off why would you want them too!

the truth is the union leadership does not have a backbone, the last 2 strikes we had royal mail on the ropes and twice the union leadership backed down from a position of strength leaving the membership high and dry with our arses raped by royal mail management ... when the leadership develops a backbone then you can come on here and lecture us until then go and take a flying f*ck to yourself ya bunch of spineless cowards

Fair do's Postman your word is good enough for me.
Trouble is if this guy is kosher then we really are stuffed. Presumably this stuff is spoon fed from the top, and the gist is poor old RM are skint so be grateful for what you get.Well they ain't and I'm not ,and I'm left wondering why our elected( )leaders are so keen to sell us a deal that is such a bitter pill that it needs a big fat sugar coating to get us to swallow it? I wonder if they've got the confidence to put this deal of the century to the members with no recommendation ,surely if it's that good it will sell itself

That would be interesting.
I think at best the PEC will be split on this and it may come down to a little tactical block voting.
One thing is for sure if it is a unanimous recommendation for acceptance we will know it's as bent as a nine bob note. :hmmmm

I think The Truth meant when use the term negotiator he did not mean at National Level but at his own level. Even Local DO reps "negotiate" with the DOMs.

BTW I reiterate totally what POSTMAN has said above about "The Truth", "Dingo" and "Lovejoy" they are NOT PEC members but they are extremely good sources of information and without them RMC would not be as good as it is.

Okay I don't agree with them all the time but that does not affect the simple fact that they are a good asset for RMC, we would know far less than we do now.

Also I would appreciate if people would stop trying to out them, or posting that they know who they think they are. No matter what their position is in the CWU or Royal Mail they are ordinary members on RMC and have the same rights as the most recent member joining today and that means they have a right on here to keep their identities secret so please stop all the speculation and just comment on the substance of their posts please.

the truth is the union leadership does not have a f*cking backbone, the last 2 strikes we had royal mail on the ropes and twice the union leadership backed down from a position of strength leaving the membership high and dry with our arses raped by royal mail management ... when the leadership develops a backbone then you can come on here and lecture us until then go and take a flying f*ck to yourself ya bunch of spineless f*cking cowards

If all members had the same strong belief and willingness to remain on strike until the National Union got a deal worth having that you and others have voiced on this forum, then the Union negotiators could holdout for as long as it took. However most of our members would not even go for an all out strike and the talk of more than one day made for the shuffling of feet.

An old but true cliché is a Union is only as strong as its members and the last thing a negotiator would ever want to do is to be in negotiations whilst a strike was crumbling around them and I believe that was the fear due to the reports coming back from across the Country. And the real truth is the members doing the job right every day as the Union has been banging on about for years would have delivered the biggest killer blow to Royal Mail and there plans, but hey we are where we are it not spineless to know when to deal.

We all hide our identity on this forum and that has its benefits, you say what you want to say without fear of facing treats from the employer or even the Union. It also has its drawbacks of suspicion of motives and who is driving the views expressed, however the strength of a forum like this is there is always somebody with a different opinion and argument.

It does not matter if those on here are members of the PEC, Policy Advisors, Divisional reps, Unit reps or members/non-members of the CWU we are all here to voice our feelings and get information.

I must have missed the union's campaign against 'job and knock'.

Perhaps there could be an effort to educate members what the results of some of their behaviours will be in the long run.

The members are not strong because they have no idea what is going on.

Who does that benefit?

The union should televise the PEC agreement debate on its TV station.
