Whatever is agreed / rumoured to be agreed, we have to judge it, on the shop floor, on the basis of trust. A management we cannot trust in any way shape or form if the last 10 + years are to go by.

Until we see some practical moves on the office floor by management to make them trustworthy, i.e. sticking to agreements they have already signed (i.e. D2D, lapsing, cars on duty etc etc etc etc,) no deal can possibly be voted for in any confidence.

We know management to be liars. Until they provethemselves differently, any so called agreement must get a no vote.

Hope it includes something about the forcoming election material that we will have to deliver!

And that its not included in any D2D "package" that has been "agreed"

or will we be delivering everything for one price?

I would prersume that the current national agreement for election material will hold the field, Dingo has mentioned that election material will continue to be a seperate product/service from door to door.

 MMM-the only worry that I have about election material, is that more and more candidates seem to be putting the material in stamped addressed envelopes, and they have to be delivered in a oner! our last local elections were a nightmare, as donr this way, the material is very bulky, and obviously have to be prepped up= more time.

Presently doing 2 SA collections every week which brings in around 50 quid plus average 35 to 40 quid per week in d2d. We have been told in our office that due to the later starts coming in around October/November SA will be part of new duties so doing away with my 2 SA collection as I am a town walk, along with that, the d2d supp being a rumoured 30quid lump per week into our wages. I reckon I'l be down money if and when the so called ' Agreement' comes in. The question is whether or not the guys who SA on a weekly basis will they be compensated in anyway or have the CWU negotiators not took that on board when doing the pay/wages part of the negotiations.

SA can be withdrawn at any time with a months notice and will not be compensated.

No: 181/10
Ref:
Date: 2nd March 2010

TO: ALL BRANCHES WITH POSTAL MEMBERS

Dear Colleague

UPDATE ON ROYAL MAIL/CWU NEGOTIATIONS

Given growing speculation surrounding our negotiations with Royal Mail we would ask Branches to convey the following CWU statement to our representatives and members:-

"Following 3 months of talks facilitated by Roger Poole, the Independent Chair and ACAS, the negotiating process between Royal Mail and CWU has now reached its final phase.

Both parties believe significant progress has been made. A document, will this week, be considered by the Postal Executive Committee".

Further information will be issued in due course.

Yours sincerely

Dave Ward
Deputy General Secretary (Postal)

Been quoted as everyone within the delivery unit, which includes people who don't do delivery work, you have to make your own mind up as to whether that is fair or not.
Delivery

Resistance is fertile
