Remember change is going to happen, it's about the benefits of change which the cwu can get for us, if the conservatives get in things will be a whole lot worse, we need some type of agreement now! Don't just look at all the bad things and make your decision, take the whole lot in , some times you have to give a bit to get a bit elsewhere.

It really depends how far these changes will affect you personally.
It's not always about the benefits sometimes it is about the drawbacks.
If change is going to happen it must happen in such a way that is sustainable for the membership over a long period of time.
I don't believe it is fair to use an impending possible change in goverment to pressure the membership into accepting a deal that is not in their long term interests.
Who needs some type of agreement now? Us,HQ or RM? Out of the three in my opinion we need it the least.
Let us look at the agreement and see if it is feasible and fair before we start looking for good and bad bits.
After all sometimes you can give no more.

It won't be 4 on 4 off, it would be a rotating 4 day week, giving a long weekend every 4 weeks.

4 on 4 off would only work if we offered a seven day service.

personally i could'nt give a toss about longer saturdays,etc,etc,etc.as long as a lump sum (bribe) isn't accepted by the fools who can't see past their noses,& to FINALLY get some uniformity across the board,not just individual D.O's or regions.& get shot of this job & finish shite,paid for 8 hrs,work for 8 hrs (less breaks........obviously )The union must (& i hope can see) that if they bollox this up,they & some of us are finished & RM management need to wise up & stop trying to shaft us weekly,no more lies,tell the truth & pare down management at local level

As was mentioned before only CWU members get a say as RM will not ask you for your opinion, CWU ask its members, RM does not ask its staff.

The 4 day week on 10hr days are the best shift pattern i have worked, your long weekends every 3 weeks are fantastic. If you have the chance to go for this scenario in your office then grab it.
PLease ensure your workload alignment is correct though !!!!.( doms often try to overload 10 hr duties)

10 hr shift patterns can work depending on distribution. 10hr shifts in my office involve ips,double preps, your local cwu rep can negotiate start times. Get the best deal for your own office regardless!!!,( this is what the cwu want--local agreements)
