How do you think it's 6 days on ? Does Sunday not exist in your calendar then ?

Look, 4 days on / 4 days off is not achievable when there are only 7 days in a week and when Sunday has no deliveries or collections !!! And even if RM did do dels / colls on a Sunday, would you really like it on the weeks when your 4 days were rostered to be Friday Saturday Sunday Monday

i'd better stop speculating and wait til things are sorted. after getting all excited about the four day week thing, now it seems fulltimers won't get it as there won't be enough work to do inside. devo'ed.

yeah, this is going to be the problem, a lot of things are being promised but will every office be able to take advantage of them. less saturdays sound good but not at the expense of full time jobs. I'm getting a sneaky feeling it's all going to have to be negotiated locally and will not come in. :arrrghhh And it will end up with us all working the same amount of saturdays with a later finish....But the response will be.."Every one had the option to negotiate a 4 day week locally"

According to a dim I spoke to, he said the 4 day week would be like

Monday - Thursday - Work
Fri, Sat, Sun, Off
Mon, Tues, Off
Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Work
Sun Off
Monday - Thurs Work
etc

So One week you would finish on Thursday at approx 11.30pm :Very Happy
and then be off from Friday to Tuesday before work on wednesday.
Then you would only be off Sunday that week and then 5
days starting Friday the next week again

I wouldn't mind 4 days week policy but how it will address for football fans. I would prefer to stick to Mon-Thursday or Tuesday - Friday and allow me to party hard in the weekend and not to worry too much about afternoon nap.

Week 2:Mon Tue Wed Thur Fri Sat Sun

ect,ect.

Or how about having a four-day week but still working five days and banking those days so you also have a whole week off every four weeks! This idea seems to work and it was quite popular when suggested few years ago. Think about it five day week. Plus if you already have six weeks annual leave it would increase to 18 weeks!! Sounds good to me!! Some offices already bank their hours on a five-day week so that they have a week off every six instead of a day off each week. This is similar to that scheme.
