Got this in an E-mail today

We had **** ******** down to the AGM today and he mentioned somethnig about ward's comments which apparently did not go down well.

Having heard **** today, I am extremely concerned about the deal. Variable delivery spans , variable D2D (how is variability to be built in to a duty ?) and trade offs between more or less FT/PT as against shorter Saturdays etc.

eg. Shorter span = more PT. Shorter Saturday = more PT. Local offices will have a choice from a number of options.

We shall see !

we have some duties at our office were part of the office are mon-fri and part timers on saturdays
there rest of the office is rolling days off mon-fri,

I hope this helps people to understand a bit of whats going on. The CWU is fighting on your behalf but it does not have veto on all change. Your vote will make a difference but with or without an agreement some changes will come in.

Between Dingo and the Truth we have some very conflicting information. Dingo has told us that this will be a very good deal financially, as there will be several lump sum payments and an increase in basic pay to offset D2D etc. together with inflation increases over the next 3 years. The drawback being longer delivery spans, later Saturdays etc.
The truth now is saying that the deal might not be as good as we think as Colleague Shares have been used, together with Early Shift Allowances, so in fact are we really looking at any benefit at all. The Truth is also saying that the CWU must make an agreement to be able to have a say in the future, and RM will carry out their programme regardless of a deal or not, but preferably some sort of deal to alleviate industrial tension. This smacks to me of a Union that has very little say in the outcome of the agreement, as this appears to be being orchestrated by RM negotiators. Is this being drawn out to make it look as tho the CWU have made some gains, as at the moment I cannot see any gain for us the members, but a bloody lot of concessions on the implementation of the RM programme as far as duties are concerned.

i don't think that dingo ever said that CS and early attendance money wasn't being used. He always said that was part of the deal.
My problem with this is that the CWU nationally appear to think their job nationally is to rubber stamp RM's plans because anything else is 'difficult' i have a feeling that being a postie under this agreement may also be 'difficult'.

i will be voting no to any agreement purely on the basis of the way i have been personally abused ,used ,lied to , bullied
over last agreement .we were sold down river last time and the same is about to happen again. and even if the union get 5yr deal on anything is it worth paper its written on ,sorry for being negative but 20yrs in the job i would say i can see what has happened,been happening etc.do you trust rm?
do you trust labour gvmnt thats your employer?

if they really want all p-time give us all terms and we,ll all go no prob

Think we'll be getting a set of options to choose from, 4 day weeks, 5 day weeks, 9 day fortnights etc, it will be down to local agreement what each office chooses, reckon as long as RM make their savings we'll get the choice of how many days we'll work.
