WE have been informed by our line manager we must take 20mins before we leave the office ,why we cant have the twenty when out on delivery is beyond me. as we can have the other twenty when out on delivery .

Why would you want to take your meal relief after you have left the office? unless you are a runner who works through their 'break'.

i would rather mine while out, because we have no canteen and i can get something hot to eat on the way to my delivery

i would then insist on full 40 mins for a break
lets think about it when you leave office in morning where do you think mgmt go when were all on delivery
we dont come back now so we are not supposed to know where theve been
ours head over to asda for breckie and dont mention 1st line fix vouchers or youll be
taken down conduct code

also 20mins ? can you go to shop buy food heat it up and have break all in a massive 20mins
a proper break should be encouraged not fu''' ' in about with mins here or there
wait till we dont get paid for them and no time at end of duty
you,ll be demanding full breaks
if you work in any other walk of life in any civilised country you get proper breaks
christ some go for bar lunches ,restaraunts etc away from work
and this beauty i heard the van sharing pi** you will be able to have break in your van for repleanishment purposes
i don,t fu***n think so what if your buddy hasnt washed , stood on dog mess, got flu pig or otherwise,
wheresthe healthy eating standards here and what have the union or hse said on this
enough said we dont get proper breaks and about time we did
sdd fu**ed breaks up and its high time we revised our thinking on this
people are shortening lives and killing themselves out there

having breaks proper food and drink

and i dont give a toss about times out in ooops almost forgot also 5 miles from office might need to reduce
walk span to accomadate meal break

Why take a break (or part break) before delivery - yet another reason we are in the mess we are now, people running around and not taking breaks..
If you finish early because you've not taken a break then any RM manager will instantly assume your duty is easy because you've finsihed early, they won't see (or acknowledge) the fact that you have worked through your break...

20 before you go out, 20 on delivery/at end of day is the way we have it (not ideal but better than not having anything)

Unless of course you are a rural delivery, whereby you should take ten minutes before you go out (or however long it is to get your breakfast in you!), and the legal 30 minutes out on delivery. Working Time Directive states you cannot drive for longer than 4 and a half hours without then taking a half hour break. That is the law whether DOM likes it or not.

Obviously does not apply if you're a walk delivery.
