bullying...
As I am considerably new to RM, just wondered what is the norm in most other offices... I've witnessed bullying behaviour and have been on the receiving end of it too. I know this is a very grey area, because someone may be able to take more than another person. It is very subjective, but after reading up on bullying tac-tics I feel that I am a victim and that it isn't just 'banter'.

Re: bullying...
Sue,
Bullying shouldn’t be tolerated or ignored, it will only continue and could well make your life a misery.
You could speak to the bully/bullies and let them know that their behaviour is not welcomed by you. Hopefully, if they have any sense whatsoever, that should be sufficient and they should stop.
However, if you are reluctant to approach them directly on this matter, then you could try speaking to either your union rep, your work-place coach or your line manager. If any of them are worth their salt then they should be prepared to intercede on your behalf.
Should this fail, then Royal Mail run their own Bullying & Harassment Helpline, telephone 0800 587 4777.
Don’t ignore it though. You shouldn’t have to put up with this sort of crap.

Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.

Re: bullying...
Is it the case that somebody who is found guilty of B+H by an investigation is then taken down the Conduct route where ultimately they will get the sack and that as a result they lose that part of the pension that RM has paid?If that is the case this surely is a powerful incentive to colleague-bullies out there to modify their behaviour ?It could cost them many thousands in lost pension rights.I also understand they can be sued by the victim/victims,as potentially can Royal Mail for failing to protect their well-being.
