That was ever the case stokesy, in the same way they have introduced change over the last two years. In some areas it will be introduced and the staff will accept the changes and try to make it work. It isn't the best way to go about things but they would have to press ahead because they would slavishly follow the savings plan even if it made no sense and no savings. They really need a deal or they will suffer the consequence of industrial unrest again but even without it they will steam on.
Personally I think that Royal Mail management are out of control, out of ideas and have set a path totally devoid of any concept of reality.

I suspect most folks are so p---d of with the Union, they would see no point.

You're absolutely right! Wiithout the national ballot we wouldn't have balloted for action because the union bods here are too mediocre.

You're probably right Ricky. But royalmail have been squeezing everything they can out of us and will continue to do so. So it's good to at least try to squeeze something out of them for a change.

Nothing guarantees a half-assed revision like a lump sum for it's introduction.
Local reps will be under enough pressure with this agreement without members constantly asking when they will be getting their hands on the cash.

True but from my small amount of time in RM it is best not to give them even 1mm because they`ll take a mile & use it against you whilst crying wolf that it was never their fault but the militant lazy workers who are manipulated by a corrupt socialistic union hell bent on making the public`s life hell by not delivering their Christmas/birthday cards because we always want MORE MONEY

True, but when the membership has sucha history of taking the money and worrying about the future, in the future. Why would RM not exploit then.

The only thing that has been posted that I have wholeheartedly believed recently.
Its hard to trust a management "without the neccesary gene pool" to take the business forward, releasing the new indoor standards (unagreed) at this sensative time reiterates how clown like they can be however we all want the right deal, so Dave Ward "giving it large" probably wasn`t ideal in the scheme of things either. It really would be nice to be appreciated a little, because i , for one want RM to be a succesful company that values its employees and will help however i can to achieve that aim - with a little give and take where needed. Lets be honest we are fighting against the odds with pensions, privatisation and DSA all massive unresolved issues but personally i`d like a decent deal in the interim, without the damage more strikes will do. Bang there heads together and get it sorted for the good of all parties.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
I have been at RM for approx 6 years and in that time I have seen several agreements that the management at Royal Mail have not kept. I have yet to see an agreement that they have adhered to. Why should this one be any different. If they are running out of money and running out fast, would it not be in all our interests to take what we can, when we can and let the whole lot fester and grind into the ground, as it seems to me that is all this management team are here to do.
