It is my opinion "Cantbelieveits" post along with many other pieces of "info" on this site was in fact a "Trial Balloon".
A trial balloon is information sent out in order to observe the reaction of an audience.
Members on this site would do well to remember that not everything posted on this site is done so for their benefit.
Everyone who leaks information does so for a reason.
That reason is up to each individual member to decide.

exactly, Both the cwu and royalfail have got thousands of people on here to take part in their market research. They could be thinking why offer them X when they have already indicated they'd be happy with Y.

Not surprisingly I support that view. In fact I would go so far as to say that there has been a sort of "straw poll" maybe only "local" to HQ and that the reaction has been such as to make them stand back and wonder what to do in the event of a NO vote - despite a certain poster on here being adamant that the membership would vote for anything supported by the PEC - if the southerners don't support it then it's a NO.fishtank wrote:gb93 wrote:"Cantbelieveits" posted on feb 14th (sorry dont know how to link post) This post gave us more information in one post than dingo has in countless. If you are so much in the know dingo give us some real info and updates that have taken place since "Cantbelieveits" post rather than the waffle and non-information you have fed us.

Let's face it if they are floundering with the negotiations and the length of time would suggest that, if it had to go to a ballot without the assurance of a YES vote, they may as well pack their bags because their day is done.

You are probably right about the leaks but I think maybe you are overestimating the importance of RMC.fishtank wrote: It is my opinion "Cantbelieveits" post along with many other pieces of "info" on this site was in fact a "Trial Balloon".

I doubt they pay that much attention to a chatroom.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

RMC in itself is not important nor are it's members.
It is just the quickest most direct way to gauge the reaction of a diverse cross-section of the membership.

That is where we would disagree I think. I am not sure those are the words I would use to describe RMC.fishtank wrote:........... a diverse cross-section of the membership.

Oh I don't know . Take a gander at the votes received by the last lot of winners in the PEC elections, then compare it to the site membership. Even a partially fruitful cyber campaign could have massive effectsclashcityrocker wrote:You are probably right about the leaks but I think maybe you are overestimating the importance of RMC.fishtank wrote: It is my opinion "Cantbelieveits" post along with many other pieces of "info" on this site was in fact a "Trial Balloon".

Not important, would be interesting to find out how many managers have had their fingers burnt with the help you lot have given on here?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

When i say not important i of course mean as the subject of a market research campaign.
It's importance in other areas is legendary.
