This f***s me of especially the ones from Hong Kong, tbf it's our blokes fault, one min i get it as a reg,the next in ordinary packets, seems the MC can't make their mind up.
Also some foreign ones don't work with the PDA.

Moving on,yes of course they should be signed for,all of them,i do think that you lot would get the hump if you sent stuff abroad with our int reg thingy and it didn't get signed for or lost ect.

But it is a fecking pain though as most of the stickers don't peel off.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Well if it's got a number and a red sticker saying "Signature Required" I get it signed for. Mostly they come with the normal packets and occasionally they come from the cage as a Special. I get a lot of foreign packets that have tracking numbers on but no red sticker, I asked the PHG in the cage about these and he said to just write the number down on the card along with the other Recorded/Special stickers but just deliver it and write "Delivered" if delivered or P739 left if none home/won't fit.

Never had them from the locker always in normal packet bag. I always get them signed for. There is a number on there but it often doesn't peel off you just have to write it in.

How many times have I seen the comment do the job properly on here? Or does that only apply when it suits us? We are happy enough to throw around words like “lazy” and “incompetent” when talking about management but what about when we are the guilty party?

Getting a signature when it clearly states that one is required is doing the job properly.

FFS, no wonder we get such a negative press and attract so much criticism.

Maybe I’m old fashioned (and if I am, then I’m proud of it) but I still believe in a postman being part of the community and offering service first and foremost despite Royal Mail’s attempts to turn us into just another crap business trying to provide the minimum level of service while extracting the maximum profit for its shareholders.

But I despair when I read some of the comments on here. If we don’t care about the job we do then how the f**k can we expect anyone else too?

a couple of jonny foreignors get loads on my walk, the ones from Ireland (usually passports) have no sig, just put down the time next to the sticky barcode,if no barcode no sig even if some clown has stuck the RM sig required on it,BTW do you know that Irish P.O does not recognise our S.D's but we have to acknowledge theirs

When we get them in at MCs if they come in a special bag from Heathrow MC or that office around Dover (can't remember the name of the office) they get treated as specials otherwise they get treated as normal 1c mail.

At my DO, if they come via the registered cage treat them as such, if through ordinary ips, treat the items as recorded.
