Reading the posts from most of the senior CWU on this site, I get the image in my mind of a group of depraved, slightly paranoid people hanging out at each others houses, getting completely out of their heads while feasting on union credit card ordered curries.

Does anyone else get the same picture?

I was wrong no deal ! But the union walked away cause the deal on offer was not good enough . Some of you should recognise that the Cwu are only after the right deal not the quick deal !

We do!!

People are after information and communication.

Since when did that translate into into wanting a quick deal not the right deal?

Back to Square One then is it?
They've been at it long enough don't you think?
Walking away from the table when the "deal was done" ... allegedly?
Doesn't sound good .... If it's taken that long to get to this point! So what did they not want to give up then, or are they spoiling for a fight?
Just what the fekk is going on if they've been at it that long then do tell.....please! What went wrong then, what deal do they want? Do tell! Do they not realise that RM won't give them what they want without something back in return!

Or is this Croziers :cfo last stand then, methinks he want's to go out on a "high" maybe?

Yes i would like the job done, although i personally do not believe it is in our interests to fed titbits, by the CWU or the business.
IMO the business would look for the chink or put out disinformation to test the water, target those least if not affected at all. Get them on side, then the majority who recognised the offer for what it was would be outvoted, ok not a popular opinion i admit. The 07 agreement seems to have been reached on the hurry up and i don't want another one of those.

Come on we really need to regroup and focus on what are the options if there is no agreement. It looks like the HQ plan to influence the talks by labour back benchers signing up to EDM's and leave the rest to the experts or the 'negotiators' as Dave Ward likes to put it has failed to get a reasonable result.

After four months of silence and a union membership that is going stir crazy there has to be some serious debate what we can salvage out of this and how if possible we can stand up and start a programme of IA.We were told over a year ago that the union needed to box clever and find different ways of putting our case that didnt involve the bad old ways of striking,i and many others found that hard to swallow.

The leadership handling of the dispute can be sorted out at a later date but we have to be honest with ourselves and ask can we stand up to a european directive,an anti union government and a corrupt Royal Mail.

Yes, what we really need to see, is what's on the table. Not neccessarily what's already been agreed (if anything). But what RM are offering, and what the CWU are offering. That way we can provide feedback to the negotiators, so that they can better represent us. But sadly, there's always a secrecy clause. Is it any wonder, that the CWU comes under fire, for not getting it right? :hmmmm
They do their best for us, and I greatly appreciate their efforts. But as long as we have these secrecy clauses. They're doomed to make the same type of mistakes, again, and again. Opinion changes over time, and if they can't ask us what we think about a particular offer, then how can they possibly know whether there will be support for it? :hmmmm
Working conditions are never constant in RM. There's always something new for us to face. So how could our opinions stay the same, when our circumstances are constantly changing? :hmmmm

When you are cornered, the only option is to fight. If you put up your best fight and lose you will still have your self respect.

If the reason is right, then you mustn't avoid the fight because the odds are against you.

A union is there for a purpose. If it refuses to fight for this purpose, it won't really exist and we will be paying for a group of people who, at best, will be getting wasted and guzzling curry at our expense, or, at worst, will be the management's secret police force.
