Fishtank the 2007 Pay and Mod stated that your early attendance allowance could be incorporated into pay after 3 years. The "grandfather rights" were never worth any more than the MTSF arrangments.fishtank wrote: No dingo the £12.37 is very factual, that is my early shift allowance and it is about to lose all present and future value in one go.
If you think i am accepting whatever D2D supplement minus £12.37 i would suggest a rethink.
Winners and losers eh.

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
I'm starting to think there trying to see it out past the election. although that might be a bit parinod.dvbuk55 wrote:Dingo are the talks concluded tomorrow or not? You now state that "in the next three weeks" & "to go out to ballot with the the new agreement" does that mean the talks are not concluded tomorrow and we now have another three weeks to wait to see the "nothing is agreed until everything is agreed" agreement?
I mean we've waited for much more than 3 months so another 3 weeks doesn't seem that long IF we are given a concrete reason why these talks are stalled.

If they havent put a deal to the PEC by next wed & Thur as dingo said earlier i'll start to believe you're right. Considering yesterday was supposed to be the absolute dead line...no further talks ....deal or no deal....then we get...deal is very close

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
If you want to know when the agreement will be released, you need to work backwards.
Take the expected date of the General Election.
Find out the maximum time after a ballot that a strike can be called.
Work out how long it will take to hold a ballot.
Add a few weeks for people to read 60 odd pages.
One thing is certain, Labour/CWU will not allow a strike to happen before the election.

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
I understand that people want to know whats in the agreement and everyone is frustrated at the facts its taken 3 months since the interim agreement was reached.
But believe me when you do see the agreement you will understand why , this agreement is going to be titled 2010 and beyond. It is going to provide a future for postal workers in a changing industry.
Linkin quite rightly points out that postal workers are not to blame for either the comercial loan , the downstream access rip off and the pension crisis. However like most things in industry the workers always suffer.
I hate to say this but the industry is in crisis. It is losing revenue as companies get a better deal by downstream access and then using Royal Mail for the final mile. TNT when they introduced walk sequencing the market was still growing . Royal Mail are introducing walk sequencing when the mails market is shirinking. Yes there is noise over traffic decline but over 82% of mail is automated and therefore counted by the mist system which is tested for accuracy every 2 weeks.
Now in terms of pensions , well the union is and continues to meet minsters etc on this issue. Some thing this is an easy option to crack well it aint especially on the verge of an election campaign.
Equally we know that Royal Mail have not budgeted for any new defcit which is going to be over 10.5 billion , the reason is obvious that they intend to close the pension scheme. Now a lot of people on here attempt to re write history but I know what happen on the final salery scheme when the union had the debate at the Northampton briefing apart from London there was not an appertite for a row on it , the North West understandably stated that they were going to fight on the mail centre issue and that was more important to their member then a pension at that moment but believe me there was not an appertite.
Now people will get the opportunity to vote on the deal and quite rightly make your mind up on the issues but lets be truthfully out there , some of us had to drag this union including branchs and divisons to a national ballot last year , as there was not an appertite in some areas for a fight thats why it took so long to get a national ballot. Yes we sercured a yes vote but lets be clear that was months after others took action .
Remember some of you speak from a personal view which is your absolute right but where I must correct you is I know as I was at the various briefings etc when reps gave reports and I heard the all to familar well Royal Mail are not doing anything in our area.
Not lets cut the crap the union is not waiting for the election , it wants the right deal , due to the level of change it knows its going to be a differcult deal to explain , plus it knows its best chance on resolving the pensions issue is if an agreement has been reached.
However lets get one thing clear look at TNT in Holland when they introduce walk sequencing full timeres only had a job until 2012 and it is 80% part time.

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
if automated mail is counted by this mist system and checked every 2 weeks for accuracy why when i counted my mail (as requested by my manager, who actually admitted before i counted my mail that his and RM figures where wrong) did i count 1107 total items and RM came up with 838?????? That's a difference of 25%. I believe that before anything is sorted out the fake traffic figures that RM feeds us needs to be addressed.
Also as Linkin said why do we subsidise DSA to the tune of 2p per item? Is it because Crozier accepted that deal? Why doesn't the shite RM management get off there arses and get to the government and complain about this, even the union would support them! We've been cut to the bone by the regulator, the government, the management to be more cost effective and more efficient.
Here's RM efficency for you. We had a walks revision in sept 2008, we said that 5 walks were way to big. The cluster manager who oversaw the revision said no problem after 6 week we'll review it and sort any isssues out. Didn't happen, no review. Now these 5 walks book on average 14 hrs excess mail a week, 52 weeks a year, so that's 14x9.20=128.80x52=6697.60!!!!!
RM won't move in the right direction until it gets decent management whose motivation isn't bonus bonus bonus. We had stand in manager while we were on xmas pressure. We had 12 inches of snow and a massive backlog of parcels, when i asked him what he was going to do about it he turned round and said 'it's not my problem'. I asked him why peoples xmas presents weren't his problem and he walked off saying 'i'm not having this conversation with you'.
WE DO OUR JOBS, THEY DON'T DO THEIRS.

it's disappointing to read (even though that may be between the lines) that the voice from the inside has changed from "come on we need to stand up for ourselves, we can do this, the future is ours" to "it's the best we could do given the current climate"
re-arrange these words to form a well known phrase
