It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

ex - royal engineer 8 years service, we have a few ex- sqauddies at our place including a royal marine RSM. one of the bosses is an ex-squaddie and he still bulls the toe end of his boots, short, sharp and s**t-hot.

now Army Cadet Instructor
Dunno if I could do that, indoors yes, but outdoor probably not, especially Northern Ireland
quite a few ex forces in my place, many have gone the opposite of what they used to be, they became hippies, grungy hair, hair bands, "peace and love" etc, probably a reaction to their former regimentated life

There's not so many Ex Forces joining Royal Mail since that Panorama programme that showed an ex Marine wasn't up to doing a walk in the required time.
I'm not sure which that said most about - the Forces or Royal Mail.
