I'm sure the official guidline is you're not allowed to carry more than 7 specials on your delivery. This would be ok if they were only letters or very small packages. But how can you keep them on your person at all times when you get 3 or 4 that are bulky?
I had this out with the LM and he said that's what your pouch boxes are for. We'll see if they sing the same tune once a pouch box is opened and robbed.

Of course, its in their Handbooks on how to be a Pratt. And the answer also changes, depending as to whether they think you are a `Pain`to them or not.

We have a duty that covers all the shops/banks/travel agents in the town centre and that duty can have over 20 specials a day. A lot of these contain cash and the old boy that used to do the duty before he retired raised concerns about his safety. Of course his concerns weren't taken seriously by management. I would be interested to know if there is anything written down in black and white to limit how many you can carry. It seems by some of the responses that this is a grey area.

When they decided all specials had to go in the back of vans a couple of our lads promptly took two hi-tops used on bag drop duies off the road as they had knackered rear door locks and Royal Fail previously wouldn't pay for them to be fixed as it might cost money that could be used in a screw's bonus. ;liar :silenced :mad

There is an agreement regarding S/Ds i have a copy in our office and yes there is a limit to what vans and walking opgs take out ,trouble is we dont use it at the moment,things will change soon me thinks.

I will dig it out and post on here A.S.A.P.

There are rules as to how many specials an individual should carry and I think the total is 8 for a delivery on foot, 5 if considered high value, I don't recall there being a different value for cyclists - I think a vehicle can carry 35 but has to have a secure box for HV items - I'm pretty sure we have a list in our locker - I'll take a look when I'm in there tomorrow.

I do remember thinking that the figures were higher than I thought they would be.
