On door to door now you do not normally do them at Xmas or when on leave or sick leave. In addition not everyone has 3 items per week.

If you are in reciept of the early shift allowance then it will form part of your 52 week supplement. Equally if you have joined since 2007 or never recieved an early shift allowance then this existing money will bring people up to the same supplement. Remember in the future very few people will work as early as 5 or 5 30.

Due to the fact that royal mail cannot single out payments everone in the delivery unit including reserves , indoor and drivers will recieve a supplement.

It should be easy to check if someone is a loser as royal mail have given the union a list of the amount of items and payments and quality for every delivery unit.

Answer b then. :cuppa
Driving allowance the same?

RE my earlier post.......
2)£30 a week pay rise for delivery staff (due to D2d's)including any allowances you already get. :dance
3) £500 in April

dingo wrote:Floyddy no the figures on most of what was stated is wrong , only 2 and 3 is right.

#3 I expected, but #2 would be a pay cut -
52 x £30 = £1560
However I recieve shift allowance & driving allowance and D2D payments
52 x £6 = £312
52 x £12 =624
43 x £25 = 1075
TOTAL = £2011

£2011 - £1560 = A LOSS OF £451 per year, EVERY YEAR.

Thats 25% LESS than I recieve now !

If this is true then most members with more than say 10 years service (who have grandfather rights to their allowances ) are going to be worse off
Thats not much of a pay rise !

Oh no, this could be interesting, is this where the winners and losers creep in?

Postie A formerly receiving the item price for 3 items @ 500 drops = about £24 + former early shift allowance at £14.65 will now receive £30 for unlimited D2Ds.

Postie B formerly receiving the item price for 1 item @ 500 drops = about £8 with no shift allowance will now receive £30 for however many D2Ds RM can manage to get for that area.

Surely that is not part of the agreement Postie A would be funding the pay rise for Postie B wouldn't he?

Dingo... I would like to first point out that i think you have been harshly treated and i like others thank you for keeping us up to date as much as you can.

But i would also like to point out that while you say some areas only get 1 or maybe 2 door to doors a week other DOs do regulary do get 3 every week without fail.

So under the new deal there is no doubt i will be taking the new maximum, hence the problem, Door to door in the workload will be great for those in certain areas but a nightmare in others.

I will only work my hours and will not be bullied into doing more, but under your agrement others in my office and others will have a daily battle to just try and work thier hours.

Ok we have to accept D2D into workload and maybe it will end up with a pay cut.If this means we are given a reasonable time to complete the work and there is no bully into working over your time plus absorbing sick absence then i might be willing to accept it.

But unless the walking speed on delivery(belgium is the closest to us at 3.6 mph) is drastically reduced and there is a transparent indoor work calculations which are not based on BSI 100 etc then its gonna be blue arsed fly with a bundle of mail syndrome.

So far theres been no explanation on how fair workloads are to be calculated.Id also like indoor workloads to reflect the H&S that needs to be done in every office cos at present where i work it only exists in the ssw work folder and is ignored by management and senior reps.

Longer deliveries might need a a return to office etc is this going to be possible cos they introduced the sdd to save money on this in the first place.

It is, no matter the supplement, the most ridiculous proposal i have heard to date.
Reserves, just in the door who don't do D2D would be the major beneficiaries of this system.
That will go down well in the canteen. :chuckle :chuckle

Now that motion was carried by every CWU Royal Mail Branch , yet a lot of those Branch"s went on to break that motion by agreeing to geo route revisons without a national agreement and therefore made it imposible for the CWU to get a national agreement on Geo route. It took a hundreds of local disputes and a national strike before Royal Mail have now agreed to a geo route revison
If we are going to talk about who's not followed union policy then which branches/offices agreed 4 day weeks with deliveries over 3.5hrs to suit themselves? Why were units allowed to arrange 4 hr plus deliveries? When 3.5 is the max?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Personally i'm not bothered about newbies ect and what extra they get,but if this is in the deal then i'm voting no,regardless of whatever else is in it and how good it is.
I think the D2D situation could kill the deal stone dead.

For the record,my place gets 3 about 80+% of the time

Def not happy with a pay cut and id be the first one on the picket line and be willing to stay out for as long as it takes.People posting who apparently know better than me,are saying theres no chance of another national strike and im not living in the real world. Its hard to gauge what the hell is going on really,im just stirring

Reserves just in the door not doing door to door, how odd! If you on a duty that has door to doors then you do them regardless of the amount of time you have been in the job. No exemptions for new/newish OPG's at my D.O never has been in the almost 19 years Ive been there. They get a IPS exemption whilst they are getting used to the frame of the delivery they are performing but cetainly not exempted frpm doing to door

if this goes ahead....ALL delivery staff will be doing 20% no more no less D2D per day reserve or otherwise...
