Re: DOMS FOR THE CHOP
I'M AFRAID YOU WON'T GET ANY SYMPATHY OFF ME FOR THE DOMS. LAUGHING AT US ON THE PICKET LINE, DOING POSTMENS WORK, DROPPING OFF SPECIALS AND POUCHES OFF IN THEIR OWN CARS!!!!! LIKE TURKEYS VOTING FOR XMAS!!! OUR REP TOLD THEM "THEY WILL BE NEXT". WHAT GOES AROUND , COMES AROUND!!

What was that cry that rang out at Nuremburg after the war? "I voz only obeying orderz!" I don't remember it being too successful back then either!
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

smokerjim wrote:koolkid, if I can play Devil's advocate on the context of the letter for a mo...how many times in RM or previous employment have you done something a superior has told you to do, even though you don't know way? And if you've asked for a reason, how many times have you been told nothing or something like "I don't know / you don't need to know!" I'm sure it must have happened a few times......well, I think that's where Unite & their members are coming from, and I'll give them that latitude, but I can't excuse the fact that they seem to have been sitting on their laurals, as we have been repeatedly attacked ( usually by them as agents of senior mgmt ).
It's like a farmer with 100 cattle and 10 sheep in a field, and he gets the slaughterman to cull 30 cattle....the sheep do nothing - if the farmer then brings in the slaughterman to cull 3 or more sheep ( as the cattle manage to do their thing without much help from the sheep ), why should they expect any help from their bleating?
great metaphor smokerjim, cant wait to see people's face at work in the mornin when i tell them about this..........................and cant wait to get stuck into the dom about it while on the i.p.s while everyone is sorting....................07.12am and if your really quite, you will be able to hear 190 people laughing their arse's off,and to be honest, id give up a day's pay to see them on the gate while..........and i will quote

still laughing now
well said fluke, think you should start a facebook page "do a conga through the dom's picket line"

Re: DOMS FOR THE CHOP
thats not really a problem.... as most DOMS in terms of length of service would be junior to a heck of a lot of OPG's... give them the crap walks and let them earn their seniority!el_cartero wrote:if they are forced to be posties again.. watch ur back they might want your walk..

Re: DOMS FOR THE CHOP
Firstly, they wont go on strike. if they do, and that my friends i think is a big IF you name the charity and i'll put £20 in it.
Secondly i believe their behaviour and attitude will more likely become even more moronic than at present to save their own arses.
I can see their faces now, and saying "i'm only doing what i'm told, it's not personal " total waste of skin, not enough backbones to go round.

they were "needed " for all the strikes that RM's Senior & Middle Management orchestrated - seen all this before , the reps were saying " There is a God " .fmrPOSTIE wrote:Wheres Redman when you need him? lol.

Re: DOMS FOR THE CHOP
Every one must have come across an office "auditor" in recent months, or some wally wandering around purporting to be a planner, DOMs support, you name it - what they represent is the surplus "stock" being found jobs until they can get rid of them - and these are BEFORE the current changes and MC closures - I would think 1200 is a very very very conservative figure.
We have "actings" that have been doing it forever and a day - they must feel, like part timers, there is a future for them!

One very nasty comment deleted, let's not get silly here please.
Oh and the flip side of this, what kind of manager do you think they are going to keep...
One that is lovey dovey to you lot,or one that gets the saving at any cost, think about it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: DOMS FOR THE CHOP
TBH if they just got rid of the 3 in my office then my office would run much more smoothly, the problem with those managers that 'force' through the savings plans is they usually end up in worse crap when the time comes and they haven't really made any savings at all (my office will be over budget by about 12k hours and this is about the same amount that they took out) and I know that they are proposing another 12k hour but for next year but we'll just be out on strike again because of it.POSTMAN wrote:One very nasty comment deleted, let's not get silly here please.
