Is there anything in the agreement to help the poor shat on part timers?
one day part timers will have the same right as full timers

It's gonna be interesting if they're talking about 5 hour deliveries when you only work a 5 hour day. No doubt they'll tell us we have to walk at 7mph from now on.

Well I would ask Dingo, because if you are currently on a 5 hour a day contract, and you are currently delivering up to 3 D2D items a week and the ceiling is to be lifted but the delivery span you currently do together with the travel, prep, missorts, redirections, signing off, going for a wee etc takes you 5 hours a day and the additional D2Ds require prepping and delivering, it should mean you will get more hours or not depending on local agreements I suspect.el_cartero wrote:Is there anything in the agreement to help the poor shat on part timers?

It's very sad that there is this P/T-F/T divide.
Not actually had it at our place as we have no P/T ers at the mo,but,when we do they are the same as me,and they will be treated the same as my F/T buddies.
Ignorant blue shirts are as much to blame as management,sad................very sad.
Interestingly,i think the CWU should step up to the plate here,with so many of them now,the subs being lost because the reps aren't too bothered with them can't be good.
Give it a few years,bye bye CWU.

As a part timer myself I will say this about 75% of my colleagues (both f/t & p/t) In my D/O.............................................SPINELESS IGNORANT LOSERS.
Do the job properly and stop shafting your workmates!!
All the running about, using YOUR car, coming in early, being scared to claim o/t and pandering to managements unrealistic vision (AND BONUS) is not just shooting yourselves in the foot - ITS CRIPPLING ALL OF US!!!
One guy in my office said that if he didn't use his car, he would have to give up his job. He was asked why and his reply was "There are no boxes on my delivery"

hahaha - jesus christ man id love it if a newspaper done a middle page spread and interviewed 100 posties and there storys of what crozier hs ACTUALY done to us among other things.
it could get us sympothy and possibly even change.
the public should know - its there mail that isnt getting delivered when we are forced to cut.

Well if you have no part timers now postman, hang onto your hat.
Our office is about 60/40 and the part timers aren't treated any differently - in fact I AM a part timer - the problem is not so much the distribution of labour which is what it is.
It is the start times that seperate one from t'other.
There is no time for office banter anymore because as soon as they come in they are bagged up and gone. Few of them are union members and take no interest in office "politics" and most of them are so amenable because they hope for full time contracts - which of course are never going to materialise.
I've said many times before that it is difficult to have any sort of solidarity when there is such a disparity in hours and union membership - but hey those in the smoke will find out soon enough.

Partimers in my office and my previous office are treated the same,
I was part-time for quite a while, but I also had seniority as far as I am concerned we are all equal wether part time or full-time
