will be concluded on Monday, there are inprovements in pay and shorter working weeks. RM want to reduce MC and RDCS by 50%. A full expected agreement to be shared with Division by next Thursday

keep hearing about 50% closure,so if this is agreed with union i should imagine they would have been given a proposal of which MC's are likely to go,from RM?How about giving us an idea of what VR package may be available and which MC's are under threat?

There is no part of the agreement which says the union agrees to mail centre closures or RDC clousres for that mater. However everyone must recognise there is going to be less in the future. The agreement provides for a consultation process, the emphasis on people first perference being met and of course imporvements in excess travelling and fair issues and other safeguards.

Look the North West Mail centre clousres have occured , as did Oxford and Reading and Paddington , Milton Keynes is closing as is Covertry. Royal Mail plans for the next phase is the South East and the North East mail centre reviews.

So in conclusion the union have not agreed to any mail centre closures but recognises some will close and therefore the members in those places needs protection.

rm have never given us anything without taking more back from us we need to look at the small print first and tell them no, lets not get caught out again, i dont trust the ba****ds one little bit.

No it is not true. There will be nothing which states you have to have a longer span , the reality is that geo route 2008 maps your walk first point to last point even if that is 3.5 hours then you have to add replishment etc and the walk will then be longer.

At the end of the day it will depend on the fact do you want a full time job , if your prep time is reduced and your IPS is reduced and you want to keep a full time job then a longer span may be the only way but as each office will get a delivery methods revison which includes car derived vans which are designed to take weight of the shoulder.

Bullsh*t apart you will be out on delivery for longer.
How long will be down to local agreement.
