Eastern region CWU will intend to put a motion to conference to create two Political funds one for Labour party donations/affilations and the othera general political activity fund.
Billy has spoken against such a policy in the past calling it super liberalisim.

I would support such a motion, I think there is a strategic weakness in tying ourselves so closely to one Political Party, as evidenced by the years in which New Labour has been in power.Big Daz wrote:IWW Fellow Worker wrote:I haven't paid the political levy for years. He used to say it was "taking a rightist stance". A man who is a member of a political party which has spent over twelve years pursuing a neo-liberal agenda, has sent British forces into an illegal and immoral war and is a tool of American foreign policy could hardly call anyone "rightist".Big Daz wrote:IWW Fellow Worker wrote:I haven't paid the political levy for years. Well said. Its like the TUC conference this year with Brendan Barber warmly welcoming the delegate from Cuba then opposing a motion for a general strike.Though I did understand why some delegates wouldnt back it because they couldnt deliver the membership.IWW Fellow Worker wrote:He used to say it was "taking a rightist stance".
