An Answer to Simon Barnes of Dispatches

Post by Roy Mayall »

Simon Barnes,
Dispatches,
Channel 4.

Dear Simon,

Thanks for responding to my article in the Guardian's on-line Comment is free.

I think that both of us are agreed that the Royal Mail is in an appalling state, and that something needs to be done. Where we disagree is in the idea that your programme addressed any of the underlying issues....

A good reply Roy, but he probably didn't even finish reading it.
His brief was to make a sensationalist programme on RM with as much depth as the average "Sun" article, NOT to expose what is actually wrong with RM or how to fix it, and I shouldn't think he even cares.
You should have asked him how many hundreds of hours of film of "ordinary" everyday activities hit the cutting room floor just to leave sixty minutes of shock-horror-outrage TV?

excellent reply Roy, brilliant article and i doubt if he will take you on , because it is the truth . sadly he is a puppet for the people at the top and they dont really give a toss about the workers, it is profit before people and thats the bottom line....
