Still no mention of workload,one of the reasons HQ in my opinion secured the mandate to negotiate a new agreement,was because postman outside the comfort zone that is London,had reached breaking point,while we may have to accept most,if not all of the above,we have to have a more realistic target of what is actually physically acheivable on a daily basis.
Or do even the union support the ethos of survival of the fittest?

I think he is just pointing out the reality of situation. This dispute was never about standing still. We all knew change was coming and every communication from HQ throughout the dispute acknowledged that.
What the union said was that members (a) had the right to shape that change and (b) there should be significant recompense to all CWU members.
As with any deal there will be bits that people like/dislike (and these will vary from member to member). Everyone will weigh it all up and cast their vote.
What is a FACT though is that that if it wasnt for the union and for the strikes we wouldn't even be looking at the prospect of an agreement.
i bet many of us here are senior guys, 15 year plus service, and i`ll be blowed if im up for a 4 and half - 5 hour delivery at just past 40 year of age.
I rub it right into these young bucks in my work, the runners, and often quip, here mate, just the 40 year til ya retire is it

Dingo by the way getting £20 odd a week is no pay rise when i currently get £40 for my d2d's. for the thick £40 - £20 = £20 less a week.

However if it includes 4hr+ deliveries i will have to reject it no matter the "rewards package".
That is simply because at the grand old age of 41 i cannot commit my body to 20+ years of 4hr+ deliveries.
My health will have to take priority and if the deal is accepted,no matter the difficulty i wil seek employment elsewhere.

Later Saturdays, more D2D and park and loop I can deal with, but a longer delivery span will ensure a no vote from me.
I reckon it's Royal Mail's long-term plan to deal with the pension deficit - introduce longer delivery spans to kill us all off before we retire!

You think you will live to 70? F*ck me i am 45 and if i live to 50 i will have done well. As for any ballot if you dont like it stand up tell your mates and vote NO you can do little more. I have massive respect for dingo and his DIV they have done wonders for its members but like all REPs they seem forced to buy into the HQ way as my own REP and branch did in 2007, he voted NO but they were told that if the branch didnt think they could get a no vote then they had to toe the HQ line and they did! Still he helped me out with my flyers and advice on the gate against a yes vote! How strange was that?
