Remember the employee agenda took 3 months and then we took strike action and defeated it.

Pay and Mod took some considerable time as did TDS then it changed to SDD.

This is remember a massive 3 years agreement and its has to be the right agreement. If it takes longer to finish it then providing its the right agreement will you really care after all it will be an agreement for the next 3 years.

But how much longer? Im sorry but i cant take any more of this no info and be patient agenda. What happens at the end of the week or the end of month if the right deal has not materalised. What happend if its this time in March and the right offer/deal has still not come about.

At some point the PEC has to get a grip on reality and say enough is enough we have taken this as far as it can go and reveal all to us mere mortals. Now I assume you would agree with that? If you do put a time period to it that you would consider acceptable and press the PEC to consider, this week, next week, middle of next month, pre general elction post general election or even Xmas2010.

RML should be told we want a full and final offer which will be put out to vote and ifs a pile of nonsense then the PEC will recomend a no vote!!!!

I don't know why you bother. You can never win with some people.
I hear it at work,"why did we bother striking " etc. What ever we get will be a lot better than we would have got and I don't think there can be any argument about that. :no no

I know mate I must remember to get a life !!!!

Some posters believe it is so easy for both sides to agree to the biggest changes in Royal Mail`s histoy. Well its not and was never going to be.

The reason why its taken so long and will take a little bit longer is that the union is not a nodding dog and simply accept every Royal Mail wants.

The Union will only agree a deal which they believe is worthy of the membership voting on.

Dingo has worried me since day one - talk about yin and yang, which way the wind blows - we're almost there, it's a done deal, the deal of the century, longer delivery spans, shorter working week, unlimited D2Ds, one off payment, weekly supplement, the biggest pay rise ever, longer Saturdays for some, winners and losers, no winners and losers - I would have said that is the deal, so what's the secret - I mean what could an improved offer give over and above the deal of the century?

Don't shoot the messenger!

Without the likes of Dingo and the Truth - we wouldn't know anything at all about what's been going on.

If it does turn out to be a three year deal on pay , it better be an inflation plus % arrangement .
Inflation has gone from negative to 3.9% in a couple of months . If somebody falls asleep at the wheel our "biggest ever pay rise" could turn into the mother of all pay cuts in next to no time :shhhhh

It's surprising how some can trumpet a figure of 7.9% for a pay increase only to find that over the three years it amounts to less than 2% p.a.

You are right to suggest that there needs to be a very tight grip on reality as regards fiscal matters - the recession will have to be financed eventually and there's no prizes for guessing who is going to be paying for it in increased VAT and taxes and fuel charges.

If a week is a long time in politics then three years is a bloody long time in the pay packet, especially with a Tory government looming on the horizon. We do not want to be taking a one time increase for the three years. If that is the case then the subs should be frozen for the next three years because in effect we will be voting for a pay freeze.
