If you are going home after delivery, it's when you have posted your last letter or pouched off.

Re: part time - d2d
If you come in, in the morning and your frames in a mess like you say show your DOM your frame, tell him to get it sorted before your start time, then go sit in canteen make some d2d's if your in a 9 as you say. Let your DOM know you want it boxed in properly everyday!! Start at your normal time F*CK the van, that'll come n get at the right time of 10:15-10:30am, take out your d2d's daily i'd say about 160 going by how many doors you say you have and the best bit is - If you can't do all the mail for your finishing time off 13:55pm, thats your time for posting your last letter... THEN STREAM YOUR DUTY m8, cause if you start doing your duty right - Then am sure it won't take very long for your DOM to get his arse into gear by getting your DUTY sorted by getting it prepped and timed... The only mail your meant to box in is mis-sorts and if there's more lying about ask for - Prep o/t.. Its that simple. (1 question - Do you get your Local Re-Directions done for you?? ) just asking as am thinking if your mails not in a can't see them being done for you either.

Oh and you asked another question, do you think you should do your D2D's.
I think it's unreasonable to expect you to be able to complete D2D's when the twonks do not even give you enough time to deliver the bloody mail. Sadly though Royal Mail will still sack you unless you make it patently obvious to them you CANT do them.

Depends on how much you have pissed off the management. (Deservedly does not enter into it sadly).el_cartero wrote:IPS wrote:Oh and you asked another question, do you think you should do your D2D's.

Anything from a blind eye to a warning to two year serious and suspension. Because you have been receiving money for the Door2Doors (I know you didn't claim) it will probably end up being a straight suspension if they want rid.
They are the facts as I see them, BTW sent you a PM.

Re: part time - d2d
Question:
If you expect someone to prep your D2Ds into your frame each day, are you prepared in turn to share part of your D2D money with that person?
If yes, tell your DOM the name of the person who is doing it and ask him to allow that person to claim a percentage of your total number of calls x no. of leaflets that week (negotiate the percentage that with the person beforehand) and then if they are not done ask the DOM to find out why.
If no, then just simply take out 20% each day and put them in as you go round....
It's not rocket science

No, there is time built in to prep them, so do so and cut off if you want. Why prep them on the way round saving RM money? Hell or claim the OT because it takes you over!If no, then just simply take out 20% each day and put them in as you go round....

Re: part time - d2d
I would disagree there is time built in to prep them AT THE MOMENT - this is something that has been proposed under the new agreement (if I have understood it correctly)IPS wrote:No, there is time built in to prep them, so do so and cut off if you want. Not everyone 'preps' D2Ds into their frame anyway, at least not at my old office. Many preferred to take a percentage out each day and cover a certain number of roads.

Re: part time - d2d
No under the current D2D agreement, they are to be absorbed (prepped) during office times before delivery commences. The new agreement might well do away with the payment which would clarify all issues obviously.plainpat wrote:I would disagree there is time built in to prep them AT THE MOMENT - this is something that has been proposed under the new agreement (if I have understood it correctly)IPS wrote:No, there is time built in to prep them, so do so and cut off if you want. Prepping them on the go during delivery does nothing more than save RM money at your expense.

I understand, and agree with you IPS, but 'they are to be absorbed during office times' and actually being given the time needed to do that are where I think we differIPS wrote:No under the current D2D agreement, they are to be absorbed (prepped) during office times before delivery commences. Re: part time - d2d
It's also worth saying, that one of the reasons some of my old colleague preferred to not prep their D2Ds in their frames is because they are having to use frames too small for the number of calls so have to use one slot for two properties, and don't have room for mail, magazines, catalogues etc AND D2Ds for two houses in one slot

Re: part time - d2d
I HAVE A CRIMINAL CONVICTION FOR WILFUL DELAY FOR THIS VERY SUBJECT.IPS wrote:el_cartero wrote:IPS wrote:at the mo i dont do d2d....i still get paid for them..
Be VERY VERY careful. You are on very dodgy ground here
cant do them if there not in my frame and i dont havea time scale sufficient enough to do them.
if they want to pay me for them then so be it im not signing for them.
manage me......... PLEASE but no they cant because to be quite honest with you i think they would rather have the d2ds not done than give me extra time on my contract so they meet bonus - which is pathetic.
El, I know exactly what you are going through, I have been through it, hell I am STILL going through it three years on (25 HRS). Chin up.![]()
1) They can (and believe me will) call it 'wilful delay' regardless if you do not have enough time to do them. You MUST approach your manager and personally tell them you are not taking them out. If they force you then prep them and cut off or claim overtime if they have any going.
It has been known that IB have found d2d item's in postmans houses in the past and they count each leaflet as one item of mail. Imagine you have a week's worth, in the paper it will say '"POSTMAN CAUGHT WITH 1,800 items of mail in house"
If you knowingly receive money for D2D's you have not done it is fraud in the same vain as if you knowingly get too much change from a shop assistant.
Royal Mail twist, be careful is all I say.
CONVICTION OF WILFUL DELAY 18 MONTH SUSPENDED SENTENCE OF 200 DAYS FOR FIVE CHARGES (3YR PRISON SENTENCE SUSPENDED)
