I'm from a London office, we got diddly squat in overtime during the xmas pressure, not even a minute at SA rate, zilch. You northerners don't know you're born!
Northerner?
Plenty of London in me, plenty of northener and plenty of everywhere else in me
100% british mongrel I am, the best of what England, Wales and Scotland has to offer
what about the guy coming back in after 20mins claiming the streets were too dangerous. he should try delivering in scotland. our posties did not miss one delivery . lightweight
It's been said before, but the idea that these DOs are indicative of London is as ridiculous as the idea that those DOs are indicative of the UK as a whole - we object to MOPs reaching that nationwide conclusion, but are quite satisfied to reach that London wide conclusion ourselves
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?
Mail delivery; those that can, do, those that can't, MANAGE!

Only one option sack the lot of them, Posties and Managers they are total a waste of space.
People like that only drag down the vast majority of hard working Posties in other parts of the country.
That office in tooting have probable given up many hours & walks to get their 4 day weeks, any office in the country had the same chance after the 2007 agreement, result much longer walks and as we could all see bigger frames. They go on to 10 hour days, as a result of the strikes a huge backlog builds up and after going back after the strikes management put them back to an 8 hour 5 day week, so they stand up for themselves whats wrong with that! Many people seem to knock others because they think they may have a better deal then themselves, but shouldn't we be saying good luck to them thats what being in a union is all about, geting the best deal you can.
I'm sure that when the next deal is reached many offices will jump in and agree all sorts, just like when the 5 day weeks first came about. It was the offices that read the smallprint and didn't rush in that got the best deals
Some of the managers featured last night couldnt even string a coherent sentence together. The attitude of the posties was also pretty disgraceful. Example: manager (whatever you think) asks employee to go back to work, employee refuses.
What a complete dick.
Should have been slapped with a final written warning imo.
Would like to see Royal Mail state owned but RUN PROPERLY. New management in, union rights reduced....
In London we went to 4hr walks when we went to the 4 day week and walks were lost,Dingo has posted this in another post in this topic.
As you know RM ripped this away from us which caused a s**t load of problems, add the strikes we done and the place was a mess.
The goodwill was taken way by us as well, and a lot of us done the job properly.
There is no way me,my mates or any other postie affected in the smoke would knock our bolloxs off to get the job done(as per the programme)i'm sure you lot would of done the same.
All this anti London thing is bollox,it aint a bed of roses down here, there are good offices and walks you'd sell your granny for,but you telling me you lot haven't got this in places outside of the M25?
We have wank lazy posties, but so do you, there are enough moans about them on this site.
We have wank management as well, and so do you.
We didn't lay down when management came rushing in,some of your areas did,wtf is that all about.
We went out as a whole division, some of you couldn't even get a whole branch out,one office here one office there, wtf is that all about.
And for the record my office is one of the heaviest for walks, even pre 4 day week, only the racers and chasers ever made time.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Your post was going so well POSTMAN.
I understand your anger but there were many reasons for this, some political, some geographical but very seldom the fault of the general membership.
Regarding the 10hours reduced to 8 hours, I remember the manager being questioned about the guys claims not to be able to complete the rounds in the reduced time, and even the manager had to admit that on some days this is true! If the manager is admitting to it then can we presume that this probably applies on most days?

this is all about managers tryign to save staffing money for there big bonus.desperatly trying to get them to work more days for there 40 hour buck so they dont have to hire temps straight out the budget.
nothing else
one day part timers will have the same right as full timers
This is exactly what that lot at the top want... arguments amongst us on here! What is wanted at times like this is SOLIDARITY!
Do like ROY MAYALL has done. Lodge a complaint with C4!
I for one will be doing so tomorrow as it is now somewhat late at night now.
Lodge complaints to the television watchdogs.. about the biased programming of C4's Dispatches programme and how extremely unjust, unfair and unrepresentative it is of the majority of the workforce in RM. From what I saw of the programme I just can't believe that any manager would sit there and talk to an agency worker and tell them all of what they did. Surely, as has been said in earlier posts, alarm bells must've been ringing when you get someone like that asking the sort of questions they asked.
It's been done before and we know that there is an agenda behind all of this. The breakup and the selling off RM!
The Tories and that "Meddlesom" :mfo (and the least said about that excuse for a politician the better!) they are rubbing their hands in glee at this I bet. The perfect excuse to privatise (and for them to take a slice of the cake too I bet!) Such a shame he wasn't caught with his 'hand in the till' as it were in the MP's scandal expenses, as he had already got away with it a few years ago too!
OK, we know this type of thing goes on.. but for please don't squabble like kids on here.. North v South, London v The Rest etc.. That's what they want for at the top. Divide and conquer. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link!
C4 should and must be brought to task over this shoddy excuse for a programme with its patently biased view of RM.
Methinks one of the people involved no doubt had an axe to grind when they first covered this and want their pound of flesh still. They need to be brought to task and censured over this. The standards of journalism on tv in the UK are good at times (witness the Panorama programme last Nov. That was a good one for us and it showed it too. But this! This is poor to say the least! At times we know C4 can commission good programmes.. and this is a prime example of how not to do that!
(Edited to add emphasis to the post!)
