There will not be a National agreement obviously but will there be an agreement we can vote on nationally?
Has the PEC seen the new deal? Hopefully it will be better than the one they rejected last week. I don't suppose the C4 programme spurred them on did it? Friday there was no agreement and suddenly mid day Tuesday........................ one can only wonder
The PEC did not reject any deal last week. Plus the talks were always scheduled for Monday and Tuesday only . The big question is whether it is will an agreement or not ?
Nothing to do with the dispatches programme me thinks. Who said there will be any propoosals to vote on if there is no agreement ?? Lets all wait !! Not long now !!

If there is no agreement the membership will be due a full and frank explanation!
No confidentiality clauses and certainly no bulsh*t and spin.

Oddly enough deliveries has the higher number of staff BUT they are not as organised as the mail centres are in union affairs and consequently often have a disproportionate influence in union affairs.

You will be aware that negotiations have been taking place for nearly 3 months since reaching the interim agreement in November 2009.

• The need to reach an agreement that will fundamental improve industrial and employee relations.
• The need to reach an agreement that will ensure future workload is based on fair, objective and transparent measurement systems.
We must also recognise that our aspirations are set against the environment the business now operates within and the company’s own objectives, which include the introducing of a standarised six day work plan.
The current position is that whilst there are a few of major issues to finalise, we have made real progress and we want to conclude an agreement very soon and communicate in more detail. At the same time we continue to pursue a pensions resolution through all available channels.

Its unlikely that we will hear anything tonight,if the negotiations are due to finish today its a strong possiblity that it could be another late one for the teams involved.
If a deal is reached,will it have to go to the PEC to be ratified and if so when?
At the moment i am putting my faith in The Truth and Dingo who have dropped 1 or 2 hints that the negotiating teams are nearing some sort of deal.
The one thing that frightens me,is some of my colleagues are deaf/dumb & blind to any negotiations taking place,because nothings been heard for so long they think its all been sorted for some strange reason.

Not so hasty linkin this could be the deal of the century.
Anyway unless you have a block vote of around 50,000 i don't think they are too fussy about our votes.
