I couldn't believe the size of the walk frames  however i couldn't believe that there on a 4 day week 10 hours a day thats guaranteed 20 hours overtime if working the rest DAYS  , I thought we all worked for the same firm abiding by the same rules? typical London posties getting the cream :no no
How can Royal Mail continue using agency staff and employee these don't give a s**t about the job managers :d'oh!
No wonder at least 35 colleague at the unit where I work can't wait for there EVR and leave Royal Mail if this is the sort of thing going on.

 Why could they not fit out some of us workers with spy cameras!!! I'd take the sack for showing how it really is!
and if these reporters do not ask permission to tape and film things, why can we not do the same?

4 day week is a national agreement and D.O's had the chance to do that.

Read the 2007 agreement again, it is in there!!!

Enabler - Innovative Duty Structures:

Units will take the opportunity to review existing duty structures and identify innovative approaches to meet the above objectives.

Considerations and Suggested Activities

Jointly review existing duty structures to identify any opportunities to introduce innovative duty structures/ patterns
that may be of benefit to both the business and employees that still meets the joint objectives contained within the
Pay and Modernisation Agreement. Examples could include, 9 day fortnights, 4 day weeks, term time working, etc.

All they did was take a point of view and do everything to reinforce that view

Still, a manager using a stick to chase a worker out of the rest room was very funny, considering that the person with the camera was there the whole time too :hmmmm :chuckle :chuckle

How on earth can you say that based on problems in two D.O's based on dodgy undercover filming way back in October 2009.

RML took away the 4 day weeks reduced the day by 2 hours and expected the workforce to manage. London showed they were trade unionists in action as well as name.

I tell you what albeback, lets reduce you working day by 2hours but not reduce your workload and see how you get on shall we?

Show some fooking sympathy for our London friends for they were had by RML, big time!!!

Lets stick together we all have problems in our D.O's and a wee bit of unity would be mot helpful in getting every D.O working well and a good place to work!!!

This is one thing that surprises me and always has with RM - Yes if people want to work overtime and the CWU can get it at SA rates for Christmas I think that's an excellent idea. But actually arranging how much SA everyone is going to get - never happened at my DO since I got here. Amazing, and to be honest baffling to me.

North/South divide sorry did not see it and am amazed people did. C4 were dishonest in one thing when they showed a Postie saying if he blasted it that day he could do it all, but what they did not explain was that if he did knacker himself one day, then RM would expect him to work at the same pace the next day. I am sorry but no-one can work at "knackering" pace day in day out all the time. Management where made aware of the problem, you could see that from their comments, but also from their comments they decided to do nothing until it reached "head office aware" conditions, and then surprise surprise they did something.

Woooah I understood it that they wanted a 10 hr day so they could finish a couple of hours early, and SOFO, thus working for 8 hrs and getting paid for 10, so the managers said hang on a minute, if you can complete in 8 hrs we'll shorten the day, so you get paid for working, not sitting on yer arse at home doing FA, sounded fair to me, but then the posties there complained they couldn't complete in 8 hrs, sounds to me like they wanted their cake and eat it. Tell you what I wish I could get my DOM to let me work 4x 10 hr days I'd love it, imagine all that time off, playing golf, watching tele, shopping in Croydon, and think of the overtime you could get in.

No TBH you understood it the way dispatches wanted you to.

Can I get a move to your do Heaven DO, Pearly Gates HE1 5EN :Very Happy As from what you have posted above.

1. The DOM never disagrees when people say they cannot complete.
2. Where all the working days are exactly the same and not subject to fluctuation.
3. Where all posties complete what ever comes in even if it takes them over their time.

Never believe what someone else says, or what appears on TV, research it yourself and then come to an opinion.

BTW the 8/10 hour days 4/5 day week office was a different section to the "Going to Croydon Shopping" bit, in fact one part was before Xmas and one after. I seem to remember that they were different offices as well but I could have that wrong.
