As long as its the Blue Anchor Jim and not the Blue Oyster Bar

So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
The fact remains that agreement is far away their is more chance of Martin Mcguinness and Peter Robinson shaking hands in public than our union and royalmail agreeing on anything but refreshments and the next venue!.

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
Got the letter in hard copy from Dave Ward today, at least the Rep did, "further information in due course" - whatever that means. There are plans afoot in our office for repicks, new duties etc and as soon as the deal is out - and not necessarily voted on - it will be like Poland circa 1939.fishtank wrote:k979aaa wrote:The fact remains that agreement is far away their is more chance of Martin Mcguinness and Peter Robinson shaking hand in public than our union and royalmail agreeing on anything but refreshments!.

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
I printed it off and handed out copies Saturday morning to everybody at work and again today for those who were not at work Saturday. As expected they were not impressed with the content, as in reality it wasnt really a update on disscussions, but a explanation as to why the talks are taking so long, along with a few lines about the CWU objectives in the talks.

Yes dvb the same in our office.
It is rather strange that so much has been agreed when nothing has been agreed.
I suspect that IF this deal is agreed by the membership Royal Mails plan is to move ahead at such a pace that the local rep will be overwhelmed by it all and rendered impotent.
Your Blitzkrieg analagy is therefore spot on.

Bearing in mind the only difference will be that some walks will recieve their work later on Saturday but the latest would be 10claretandblue wrote:the reason we can deliver more on a sat than a tue is because we run round like mad men too get finished at a decent time so we have some weekend left to enjoy, i.e going on football match. With how busy it is on a sat now you dont gain much over a week day.
Plus you will also be able to introduce an attendance pattern which gives you maybe one in three Saturdays off instead of one in six so you may work 50% less saturdays then you do now.
YEAH GREAT LATEST 10 THEN 8 HOUR SHIFT ADDED TO THAT EQUALS 6 O CLOCK FINISH HOW DOES THAT GET ME TO FOOTY FOR 3 KICK OFF

Re: UPDATE FROM HQ
What is the spilt in menbership between non delivery staff and others.
worried if their is a cash Bribe Mail center staff that may not be affected will vote yes and we will then have to accept it.
Would be good if HQ could advise what you should do if you cant fit your life stlye around these changes.
the only people whom seem in favour of this agreement are the top brass of the cwu.
have they no idea of the concern of uncertainty it is causing staff.
Also will their be any agreement till we get a new man at the top to replace Crozier?

Has the PEC seen the new deal? Hopefully it will be better than the one they rejected last week. I don't suppose the C4 programme spurred them on did it? Friday there was no agreement and suddenly mid day Tuesday........................ one can only wonder

The Truth
Your answer is no.
The question to be asked is,will there be a set of proposals to vote on which if voted in become a national agreement.
Lets not confuse proposals with agreements.
