100,000 new homes built each year but who delivers?

Post by REDLETTER »

If there are 100,000 homes built a year in the UK. Who delivers to them all considering the cuts we are experiencing?

say 800 drops (I know it's a lot!) that would be 125 approx staff needed!

This is happening year in year out!

So how does Royal Mail deal with this? Anyone know!

April - March 2009/10 on course for 122,700

April - March 2008/9 saw 140,950 built

April - March 2007/8 saw 176,660 built

When I started at RM 3 years ago we had about 12k houses in our area. Since then we have had about 500 new ones built and there are currently two large developments (750 and 360 houses) under construction. On top of this there is a large amount of in-filling with the odd half dozen houses here and there. Over the same time-scale we have had about 300 hours per week cut from our office :hmmmm

:no no
It's funny cause most of that 400,000 increase is Eastern European migrants who if they don't get wage slips certainly get plenty mail from the DSS.

Watch out, the political correctness police have been patrolling recently.

No one ever seems to publicly address this problem (no pun intended!) Not panorama, not Dispatches, no newspapers, media or memeber of parliament.
It is a excellent point that every intelectual within this company of communications conviently overlooks - Someone name right now one single office in the whole country that has had financial input directly related to the proportion of growth in new homes and businesses in their area, year on year for the last 3 years...? come on..anyone....? :cry

IIRC the family is the group that don't stress you out all the time (only some of the time), don't pressurize you every day, they don't always ask the impossible . But most importantly you don't mind not being paid when your with them.

When a new block of flats goes up on the rounds I've seen only a single new slot is added to the frame. It's like managerial denial that the rounds are getting bigger or like a bad Darren Brown illusion. It doesn't seem too bad until you get out there and see that one little slot represents 12 different delivery points round corners, up paths and up and down stairs. :evil/mad :so there

the way to do it is to show the DPG (delivery point growth) as pressure each and every week, now this needs to go onto the RCS, then at the end of each year the proof of new DP delivery points on A Plus and the DPG pressure that has been shown over the year should and I use that word loosely, should be taken off your offices business plan for the following year. Hope this helps and makes sense.

Can you provide a link to a verifiable source that shows the 400 000 increase will be from Eastern European immigrants?
Part of the increase AIUI will be from ex-pats returning to the UK due to problems with the value of the pound/euro and the value of their pension.
Why do they get plenty mail DSS? Have you any idea how much paperwork is involved in settling in a new country?
Or are you suggesting that they are sponging off the welfare state?
Reading your post it simply reads as a cheap racist shot. And obviously the next poster read it that way as well.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
