Maybe POSTMAN should shut down the site the minute the agreement hits the mat and re-open when the votes are cast.There has been enough attempted "mind bending" to last everyone until the next agreement circa 2013. :whistle

Floaters take door to door in my D.O and my floater simply writes on the same claim sheet as me.

Sorry, getting ahead of myself. Just getting fed up of trying to second guess this agreement. the sooner we see the thing the better. Then the hard work starts....we all need to look at it in great detail. I've got a feeling it will be a bit like the Budget...some great headline grabbers ....but when you look a little deeper we're no better off.

As for price, if all of the above were to happen, taking in to account the weekly supplement would be paid when on leave and sick leave I would think you need to be looking at .....hmmmm...£35 per week minimum,

If all of the above happened would people accept a weekly supplement? Even for people who didn't do door to door?

Am already on £30 a week for my d2d's, so your saying a minimum of £35... i'd be saying NO WAY - simple reason being i'd be getting an extra £5 for taking out the extra d2d's that RM want to add to 600+ doors means i'd be getting bumped.. No Thanks :left:
I take your point PWTM. Hey, you've got me thinking...why not leave the system as it is now but reward us better for doing the things....just wrap them all in one wrapper is all I ask.

Floaters refuse to take them in our office. So if you're on the rotating day off it's always a struggle to get them done in 4 days.

Well spoken

Just need to persuade the members at my D.O to do it, far too busy trying to carve deliveries up, which includes the rep when I joined the UCW in September 1991. I was taught when i was just a wee cadet to look after deliveries to do otherwise was a cultural no no. Sadly for far too many people that has gone out the window :sad:

Some will read it, but others will expect me to virtually read the whole thing out to them and not bother looking at it themselves.

I might suggest to the DOM a wtll session be devoted to reading the agreement, gives people a chance to read it in RM time.

Do your 20% a day and the 20% that are due on your day off is the DOM's concern not yours. The DOM should be making the floaters take them!!

dvbuk55 wrote: Yes! Just as a matter of interest BD what's your day off? How would you manage a 4 day week with a static day off? How would anyone get more Saturdays off when they already get every Saturday off?

My day off is Wednesday since November 2008 when the pegasus revision was voted in by the membership leading to a re pick of duties. Before that it was Thursday from around March 2008, prior to that it was various from September 2007 when I took my buy down and before that starting from April 2004 it was Wednesday one week and Friday the next week.

Prior to pegasus we were on a 2 week rotate of duties apart from floaters who were fixed duties.

Prior to 2002 we had four man groups and we rotated between the duties within the group we were in. The last group i was in before we moved to the 2 week rotate had a Saturday off duty which was a urban bike round which was one heck of a delivery, which was made smaller when SDD came in with its 3.5 hour span. My other three duties was a 6 day week rural 0500 to 1140, nights (6 day week) and reserve.

A 4 day week with a static day off is easy, within my wee 6 person group (5 duties and a floater) the duties all have a day off from Monday to Friday with the floater having Saturday off. So lets say we move to a 4 day week and one of the duties becomes a floater.

My floater could have Wednesday off, so thats one duty with 2 days off a week. That leaves 5 others so here we go

Duty A has Monday off currently, add on Tuesday

Duty B has Tuesday off, add on Saturday

Duty C is now the new floater and whose delivery content has been absorbed currently has Wednesday off add on Monday

Duty D has Thursday off add on Friday

Duty E has Friday off add on Thursday

Duty F original Floater would do Duty A and B Monday and Tuesday as normal, take Wednesday off do Duty D and E as normal on Thursday and Friday take saturday as day off which is current day off.

Duty C the new floater could do Duty A on Tuesday, Duty E on Thursday, Duty D on Friday and Duty B on Saturday

So whilst duty C work has been absorbed the actual job/person has been saved and redployed as a floater. That said I doubt RM will let it be that easy and will want some thing out of it as well, which would possibly mean it wont just be Duty C work absorbed but other work thus enabling RM to make a saving.

Your last question is a good one, all I can say is that the proposals if voted in and based on the info posted by dingo lead me to wonder if some will have less saturdays off, that would be those who duty is a saturday off whilst those with a week day off will start having some saturdays off.

Been away,had complaints,mrW's posts deleted.

So much to say regarding this thread :crazy:

Ain't got the time at the mo but one thing struck me regarding Sat off for reserves and somehow HQ have let them down and how it's only in London they get it. :crazy:

ffs this is well versed on here and it aint fecking hard to work out,so if you've got a manager swinging the lead get the rep to sort it,and if the rep won't sort it,get rid of him and sort it yourself,it aint hard!!!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Regarding the talks, I get frustrated with being asked endless questions at my DO which i cannot fully answer. Leaving aside the speculation about any detail of a possible Agreement, I would like to list a few general concerns I have.

We are all well aware of RM's recent record of using, abusing, ignoring agreements whenever it suits them. So I am wondering whether the final agreement will be ...
... legally binding on both CWU and RM;
... overseen and adjudicated by ACAS;
also, the proposed length of the Agreement.
