Also one blanket payment for D2D would be unfair as some walks in other offices have 2-300 drops. Obviously they would gain and we would lose out big time.
Surely RM are losing the plot on this.
We also have collection shifts, packet shifts, the guys in the locker and even an OPG who does admin, none of which deliver even 1 D2D.
Will they all be eligible for the D2D supplement.
This may indeed be a winners and losers agreement despite what dingo says.
Having worked with royal mail since i left school,i have always played football on a saturday after my duty, something that takes my mind off my terrible job.So if this new deal makes us working til 4 or 5 on a saturday,i cant see how anyone will vote it in.I know people have different views but surely we dont want this to come in.
Regarding the d2ds,i wouldn't mind taking 5 over the week as long as we got a rise on the current payment. One a day wouldnt be hard,it would help us with our duties that are too big..surely the would get cut.
Shorting working weeks, dnt think this will happen,i can only speak for my office, understaffed, cant get any single days off from your annual leave because of lack of staff.
All i am asking is u can do what you want to me mon-fri but we want a short sat to have a social life...not much to ask

Fair enough but and all would welcome this except the parasite firms who have ingrained themselves upon us all they do not have a leg to stand on but you can bet :mfo and his cronies give them that leg!.

At this present moment I only work Mon to Fri but that doesn't mean that I always will. On a former duty I worked EVERY Saturday from 5 until 1 and did the lock up and having formerly carried out a walking duty and was usually finished by 10 a.m. that was quite a wrench but due to physical limitations I had no choice but to pick an indoor duty. I thought 1 o'clock was bad enough I certainly wouldn't like 2,3 or 4 that's for sure.

Believe me on delivery , we are touching distance away from a deal including the benefits. Yes it does include 75 /25 full time /part time mix. It does include less saturdays for all delivery staff , it does include a massive increase in take home money and it does include d2d into workload and it does include agreements on geo route etc.
Work still needs to be done else where on processing and network on the benefits.
Plus the shorter working week we are still apart by and appox an hour but your be glad we are not going down the net working week option.
What does concern me is that some of you read an ltb which is quite bland for obvious reasons but states some strong principles and yet some are now saying the unions sold out.
Lets get one thing straight Royal Mail wanted to destroy the union last year. They failed.
Some posters said that Royal Mail just wanted to get past Christmas and then introduce their plan without the unions involvement. It has not happened.
The fact is that the Union has always faced an issue , you might not accept this but its clear that the amount of mech which is now done has decreased IPS. 5 years ago it was less than 60% nationally now it is 82%.
In the future under walk sequencing prep will also be quicker because it will be sequenced. These machines will run 6 days per week. So Saturdays will be effected , not everyone will work till 3 or even 2 but some will . The job is changing , you can either live in denial or recogonise that Royal Mail have purchased the machines for close on a billion pounds and are not going to agree they cannot run all machineable mail on them 6 days per week.
The union is a demorcacy so you will have a chance to say yes or no after you read the agreement. But for god sake some of the rubbish I have seen posted on here about rummours including monthly pay etc is so far of the mark , its no wonder that Roger Poole and ACAS have demanded that nothing is officially said.
Believe me , the deal is coming and it is going to be a complex and detailed deal which should be judged on the detail. At this moment no one should be in either the yes camp or the no camp cause you have not seen the agreement.
Yes by all means I accept your frustrated by the fact that you want more detail but the union has no choice but to observe the mandatory rule of no comms on the details.
Alright Door 2 Door lets get a few things straight.
Not everyone does Door 2 door now in an office, some offices have appealing quality on door to door, whilst others have good quality. Some offices have door to door barons who do the whole offices door to door and they are on a fortune some on over 96000 per year.
If Door to Door is in workload it will assist in your overall prep rate meaning more work to be included. Plus it will help to increase call rates and over the ground time . In other words your traffic in your office will increase as door to door will be now considered as part of your offices overall traffic. Plus you will still recive a payment which will be paid to 52 weeks per year to all OPGs in a delivery unit. You will also recieve a share of any growth in the product.
The only losers will be those door to door barons. Unaviodable thou !!
Now answer me this question mailsort 2 /3 is virtually non existant on a Saturday due to downstream access. So have a look at your delivered traffic on a Saturday and it will be in excess of both Mondays and Tuesday traffic. So what time are you on till on a Saturday and do you finish in that time ? If you do dont you think that Royal Mail are asking if you can deliver more traffic on a Saturday than you do on a Monday and Tuesday why are they paying you longer hours on those days ?
No one will have to deliver till 4 or 5 but you will have some later finishes. It will depend on what time your second batch of work arrives in your delivery office from the walk sequencing machines. Plus you will have less Saturdays at work.
can u tell us ow many d2d each wk we will do plus ow much will we get also wot about grandfather rights for early hours working that we get is that included in the new basic pay i was told you only save about 10 mins on the prep with the new seq machines plus d2d payments have got to be fair or we will lose a lot of support also the 75 /25 ratio wot if ur office is below that ie 60/40 will the pt be made ft to reach the level wot is also the del spec goin to be i hope we get a better and clear understanding of it not like the last with a 3 1/2 del span therefore not hasving to absorb duties during summer 10 weeks
kello22 wrote:We will just have to wait and see what our union gets us,i fully back them.I think we will be okay in this deal, fingers crossed anyway
I think you are going to have to cross more than just your fingers to get a good deal out of this shafting.
well we will get our chance in the near future by voting against the postal exective and de selecting them all because the havent listened to the membership

On average I recieve £25 per week for D2D so anything less in my weekly wage will be a pay cut, also my office has been fully georouted(4 hour deliveries) and vanshare is in operation and we have not got the time to get D2D done now let alone an increase in D2D numbers. I can not see RM reducing the size of our deliveries as they do not want to spend any money because we are over budget. It will be the same old story, we will work a lot harder for maybe a few quid if we are lucky.

I'm intrigued as to how this will work.
At the moment we cannot cope with 20% staff off on a saturday and that's with saturday only workers already in place.
How they plan to manage with over 30% off will be a wonder to behold.
